View Full Version : What wrong? Don’t think it is getting fuel?
Hey guys/girls
I need your help!
I can’t get my sv650s k5 to start.
I have had it in storage for 2 years, because my economy didn’t allow it.
The battery was dead so I changed it, and I also changed the fuses.
The display says check but there is no humming from the fuel pump when I turn the key.
What could be the reason why the fuel pump isn’t pumping?

No it cant`t be that, because the starter cranks the engine.
Is it NOT possible to upload a video?

I'd lift the tank and take the Air Filter cover off and spray some Carb/Brake cleaner into the intakes whilst cranking to see if you can get it to fire up.
Then if you can get it to fire up put at least half a 250ml Bottle of Redex Fuel treatment or similar into the tank,so long as it's got plenty of fuel in there and give the engine a good run. Then it will need a general good service.
With the bike having been stood so long I would also put aside an evening or Afternoon and pull apart every electrical connector(Especially the Main Stator Connector near the R/R) and check and remove corrosion and treat with Switch cleaner and then ACF50,

I do this to all my Motorcycles.
