i have always wondered about the true linkage rate of the pointy so while i have the spring off the Nitron i measured the total shaft length before it hit the bumper and is 35mm.
i then put the shock back in the bike and raised the rear till it hit the bumper. the measurements were 485 total length and 405 compressed which is 80mm. so 80/35 gives 2.28 so lets round it up for loose bolts and say 2.25mm
so we all now know the (good enough) linkage rate is 1-2.25mm which means for every 1mm the shock shaft travels the rear wheel will travel 2.25mm.
