Anyone follow the xkcd cartoons? They're are written by an American engineer/cartoonist/scientific theorist (Randall Munroe).

Anyway, some of them are funny (imho):

but then there the ones that go right over my head with a loud whoosh, like this week's:

I can see the fun in the organic chemistry equation but the kinetic (kinematic) follows the "half m, v squared" pattern so it seems legit. After that? I should point out that in some of these cartoons there is often genuine information imtermixed with garbage.

Never seen those before but used to look forward to the 'far side' cartoon desk calendars (one page per day) coming out every year but they stopped printing them in about 1995 - here is a sample
