Hi just wondering what's popular with other sv owners I used to have fuel exhausts on both my sv650's.it currently has scorpions fitted which while sounding like thunder and awesome annoyingly I spotted race use only on them don't fancy getting pulled or invalidating my insurance.

You might be able to get a db killer or removable baffle tube from Scorpion that will fit and quieten the cans, but I don't know how you'd get round the 'race use only' stamps on them.

I'm far too law abiding to ride with race cans what do you think of MTC exhausts they look and sound sweet and are a bit cheaper?

"race use only", is that stated with a sticker...if so remove it and install baffles, then it's just about ensuring the MOT inspection is happy with the noise levels...assuming the baffles do the job it'll be good
I've been through the whole legal carp thanks to my Rocket 3 aftermarket setup, which doesn't have any possibility of db killers being added...and no other options out there support near stock noise levels either forcing me to fit stock exhaust for each and every MOT and risk being pulled to address it again for a retest and not do it again....
But luckily for you scorpion cans should have db killers available, there's probably a fixing hole somewhere if you look....and if installed I bet the noise is reduced enough for an MOT pass

It's etched into the can no baffle bolt either.

You can put a metal sticker over the top...MOT inspectors can't remove them....but no baffle fittings....fuel exhausts are decent....£330 before discount: https://www.fuelexhausts.com/exhausts/slash-exhausts-pair-of-bolt-on-round-exhausts-350-400mm/sv1000-2003-07

I had to drill my previous Scorpion can to fit a Db killer to it, as there was no hole in the outlet pipe. Not difficult & I got a Dbkiller on ebay for a few quid.
Twas still noisey even with the Db killer :p
Baffles aren't a legal requirement. Noise level is at the testers discretion. Being pulled for a noisy exhaust is...probably...about as rare as hens teeth.
Just ride it.

I may have too wuss out and get some fuels or mtc's I see what you are saying and tbh I am tempted to leave them in as they sound mega and on that note does anyone fancy buying a set of absolutely mint sv1000 scorpion race exhausts;)
Where are you based? I have standard scorpions (baffle included!) both have dents, but I vinyl wrapped them so they're invisible.

And thank you for the offer 650 was after stainless steel but appreciate the offer.
They are stainless :) just wrapped them to hide the dent. Sounds like you made a good choice either way, make sure to record a video when your new ones are on
