Brilliant, I like this one: https://youtu.be/9taAGXpLMNw?t=101

1500bhp, drum brakes, wire spoke wheels and cross ply tyres. Me want.

Dropped into casual sober conversation with SWMBO if she thinks £550 a year in car tax is ok.

She did not freak out as I expected.

Softly, slowly I see a Monaro happening. I just worry at 47 I’m not responsible enough.

Hod up, I’ve just listened to an opened up MT-10....aye 4wheels suck.

Unless money is no object, don't do it. My OH bought a Nissan 350Z and her tax is £550 too. Add to that we are lucky to see 20mpg even driving carefully, and what's the point in driving carefully in a car like that. Insurance is not cheap either.

My ST220 was from just before the new tax regime, which was fortunate because 20mpg wasn't unusual, and driven flat out you might see 10mpg. I only paid £255 per year which was peanuts compared to the petrol bills.

Of course the tax on the Packard Bentley would be much cheaper. None.

Got my tax reminder for my 04 plate WRX. £315. Ouch. Averaging around 25mpg except for 2 round trips from Norfolk to Gatwick over Christmas which returned 29.9 mpg.

Gretna to Dundee 61mpg Nissan X-trail.
Comfortable big cars needn't be thirsty.
