August Photo Competition : Hip Shots and Happy Accidents

When my kids were small I used to dabble in street photography. It's something I could do while looking after toddlers, usually pushing a pushchair with one hand and snapping random "hip shots" with the other. Never looking through the viewfinder. Just pointing and hoping I'd get things that had caught my eye as I walked around town doing daily Dad chores with the kids.


So this month's theme is "Hip Shots and Happy Accidents". Little moments that were captured by luck, mistake or chance. Split seconds that will never happen again. Other than that the theme is wide open. Let go, lose control, live in the moment and see what happens.


( Edit: Just to clarify, it doesn't have to be 'street' photography... anything goes )

This little fella landed on the edge of the chair while I had my camera bag in my hands and the camera on the table. It sat there while I slowly picked it up and took the shot.
