Afternoon all, new boy saying hello.
As you can see my name is John, and I live in Eltham (where SE London turns into Kent). I work for London Ambulance.
I got my first bike in 1973, and have been riding ever since.
The interim period included some years in the bike trade, including a Kwak dealers, and I can safely say I've covered a lot of miles on a lot of bikes.
Current mount is an 08 Gladius, that engine has got to be one of man's greatest creations. And the bottom-end and mid range surprises quite a few of the boy racers in the commuting grand prix-. Add in massive reliability, cheap insurance and 60 mpg. what's not to love!

Best wishes to everyone out there, and not just for Christmas.

John

Welcome along John. Got to love that punchy, characterful SV engine.

Biggles, talking about Cat As, are you too one of the boys and girls in green?
I first fell in love with the 650 V twin lump when my son got an SV650s (pointy model, I believe you would call it).
Well, the forward-lean and rear sets no longer suit me, and the V-Strom would be too much like hard work in the Blackwall Tunnel congestion, so the Gladius was chosen- and I haven't looked back.

Welcome John
There used to be a very good Suzuki dealer in Eltham. I used to travel there from Romford to get bits for my gt750 back in the 70's. I don't suppose it's still there?

There was Aye-Gee, the big dealer on the corner as you came over Shooter's Hill and dropped down towards Welling. Been gone a while, it's now called Krazy Horse and sells Harley, Indian, and Norton. Or at least that's what's in the window, never see anyone in there. There was also the one in Well Hall Road, near Eltham station- think it was called John Blanchard. Been gone for decades. Is now a Co-op, I believe.
I used to order all my bits from Redcar Suzuki but they've closed, so now I use Paggetts.
