Anyone have or can comment on the quality of these exhausts ? Not looking for any false gains , just something that looks and sounds good. Also, is there any pros and cons for going with a hi-level exhaust or is it simply a look preference ?

Cheers

Never heard much bad about them. High level will likely be lighter than standard but heavier than a normal ish low mount

They're alright, a lot of aftermarkets atre of a similar quality - I'd go for what you like the look/sound/price of.

I think High levels look much better than low mount on pointys about the same on curvy in my opinion. There are a few considerations on the high level. Luggage/pillion peg mounting, link pipe routing and foot clearance. I've got fair sized feet and my heel burns agains my high level.

Cheaper systems can still sound ace :p Don't need Akrapovic except for carpark brag points ;)

Actually, they do look better on curvy's too. Just found a pic of my old Leo system

^^^ nice pics!

Thanks for the replies. I’m not set on Delkevic to be honest. I won’t be carrying a passenger so that’s not an issue for me. I’m leaning more towards a high level one just for the look. For me build quality is top , then sound, I’m a sucker for low pops and bangs  . I know if it’s just noise I’m after then you don’t have to spend much but it’s more the look of quality . Oh , it’s a 2001 SVS :)

I had a Blue Flame Evo on my SV and really liked it. Fairly long so gave a good low rumble and build quality was great.

I like the build quality of Remus and leovinci , both sound very nice .
M4 are supposed to be top for performance but you’ll need to DIY the high level I think

Had a look at the above. It seems Blue Flame unfortunately for me start from the K3 which I think is 2003 onward. Remus also don’t seem to do my year unfortunately. I could find one type from leo Vince but was US postage only, nothing within UK it seems

Are you looking brand new? If so, not sure they'll still sell these , you might have to buy a can designed for a current model sv650 and then have a link pipe made up that you know will fit both your bike and the can.

Other brands worht a look; Fuel, Akrapovic and possibly Yoshimura

You'd need to ask Fuel about the high level, they are UK made and did a lot for SV650's so may have or be able to make/suggest something.

There's also a few brands in the sponsors. I know Viper do something, I remember etting a discount for this forum but in honesty I'm not too convinced they are high end quality.

Ok so the majority don't make ones for my year ( not surprised ) well , without having to mod anything myself or get it made special as mentioned. So I have been looking at these...

First is the Delkevic ( Hi-mount )

This next one is the Fuel exhaust , they do not make a high level one for my bike so will be low fitting.

If it makes a difference a lot of the Delkevic range is not usually UK road legal (the one you have linked to is though). Not that it will matter with a lot of MOT testers but they sometimes have it stamped on them.

Ah ok, so some have it stamped as non road legal ? At first I thought it was non road legal due to loudness but since found out it’s also due to emissions

I'd get the Delkevic

As Adam says it's not a real problem unless they've actually stamped 'not for road use' on it which police will be twits about. You could ask before purchase.

Some will be stamped with a BS mark, some won't.. Some will be stamped with NOT FOR ROAD USE.

Only the latter is an MOT fail, be sensible either way and have the baffle in

Thanks guys. On the Delkevic site at each exhaust, if you scroll down it states if its road legal or not , doesn’t mention stamping but the one I’m looking at says it’s road legal so no issue there. I do like the look of the high level so I’m going to try the Delkevic hi-level carbon look .

I don't know if he does hi level but I've had some truly excellent exhausts from powertech UK made and for a good price if you give Simon a ring he may be able to help http://www.powertech.uk.com/.

I've fitted Delkevic systems to both my VFR's and was really pleased with the quality and how complete the kit was. Had different cans so can't comment on sound.

I put a custom system on my K5 Pointy, M4 pipes linked to a high level Leo Vinci pipe. I had to modify the link pipe to accept the different diameters. It was a competition bike so I went high level as it's less likely to get ripped off in a spill and makes rear wheel changes faster....but agree with the looks aspect as well! Happy days.

I need a couple of tunes done and I'm finding everyone is very far away!

I have one on my curvy, tbh... it's the best I've used so far, had two other makes previous and didn't rate them for sound or build quality ar all. The Delkevic has an awesome sound ... baffle in or out! Build quality is right up there. Can thoroughly recommend them.

That's it now been fitted. Have to say I am extremely impressed with the build quality and the sound! I haven't tried it with the baffle removed as for me its perfect the way it is. Very happy chappie
