Brand new SV650A's are being advertised at around £5200. The problem might be the price you are offered for your bike if you are part exchanging.
A new SV650X (considered the luxury version of the SV650) is for sale by a dealer near Leeds for less than £5,000. I sat on it and would have liked it but I thought the low handlebars would be uncomfortable for me.

Not too close to Essex but I have a 1999 'S' in Dover, super clean, blue, 13,000 miles, recent mot.
I have it advertised on gumtree.
All the info is on there, I think it's the only 'S' in Dover so shouldn't be difficult to find the ad.
