View Full Version : Private healthcare.
Please write to your MP if you consider this a bad idea:

In the US if you're in intensive care on a ventilator it costs about $10500/day
When I lost my job and thus my healthcare in the US, a Primary Care Physician (ie GP) visit was $200.
Majority of Americans are one medical emergency away from bankruptcy:

edit: there's also a petition: https://www.change.org/p/keep-our-nhs-out-of-us-trade-deals
This is the link to Aaron Banks who petitioned/funded the leave party for Brexit - he has links to private healthcare IIRC
i couldn't see this getting voted through Parliament, or being allowed to happen by the General Public. You'd end up with a modern day Guy Fawkes (except taking out all of those in Parliament)
I thought this country would have learned by now of the folly of selling of national assets, I guess not.

I'm always reminded of the line from Drop the Dead Donkey when Gus is in hospital after a suspected heart attack.
When George expresses surprise that Gus isn't in a swanky private hospital, Gus replies "It appears my private health insurance only covered me up to the point I actually got ill."
I thought this country would have learned by now of the folly of selling of national assets, I guess not.
The problem with the Government ran national assets, is they're paid on savings - even to the detriment of performance.
That is what tends to drive these things, how much money the people in these jobs can make by stripping back the service as much as possible.
If they were paid on a performance bonus, you would see investments being made, not savings.
i think the public need to start paying more but all the money raised should go toward the health services.
the problem with the UK is that everyone assumes it FREE.....
if they try and sell off the NHS i WILL go out and add my number to the riots to help hang the people trying to do so from lampposts.
the public need to GET A FUKIN GRIP and start telling their government to do stuff. but the public are too lazy and a bunch of namby pamby aholes who are more concerned in looking at their smartphone to tell them what to do next...

I have written so many damn emails to my MP (who I didn't vote for) and, even on the rare occasions he agrees with me, he still follows the party line. A nodding dog could do the same job and for less money.
One of the biggest fallacies about our politics is that the MP represents you. It's always party first.

That rings a bell with me - time to join threads together (http://forums.sv650.org/showpost.php?p=3124647&postcount=19)?
