attention to detail:

“We had the frame tubing made because standard tubing was 0.5mm too wide and on the original some was tapered.”

It's a phenomenal machine, especially the engine. There was an in-depth article in Classic Racer mag a while back, in which Beale said they were lucky enough to be loaned the only surviving unused spare RC174 engine from a guy who'd retired from Honda Japan.

The materials were analysed using various modern techniques and some of the alloys used were unique to Honda - no-one else made those alloys.

To make the camshafts as light as possible but strong, they are not 'straight' rods but bulge out a little in the middle, which means each cylinder's set of cam lobes is ground differently to the adjacent cylinders.
