Just got the riser kit i bought off Bibio installed and it’s amazing. Anyone thinking of doing it should do it. Hands down the best thing I’ve done to the bike. Will probably sell my clip ons, yoke and brake lines at some point. Brake lines are pretty new braided HEL. I’ll have a look at the throttle and clutch cable and see if they are in good condition. Bar ends don’t fit but will turn them down a bit on the lathe at work. It’s a top yoke kit with rental road lows and fits me perfect at 6”2. No more acheing back

I have been thinking of doing this to my K7, would be interested to ride an N model before making the changes though.

It was a massive improvement to my SV when I had it. I wish I'd done it as soon as I bought it and not waited a year.

I fitted higher bars to my SVS many years ago, actually modified FJ1200 items, still clip-on design but substantially higher than the OE items. As said, huge improvement in riding position, my MOT man commented on how much better it made the bike. Glad you've found your swap to your liking.

Best thing you can do IMHO, used Gillies Vario bars on mine, plus a gel seat made the SV into a long distance machine

Raising the bars on the S models makes them a joy to ride, I hated the clip ons and the pain was unbearable. Happy riding with your new set up, although once you have done the bars... suspension, brakes and paint are the natural next step! ;-)

glad you like it and yes it makes the SVS much better to ride. the only other downfall of the SV is the seat but once that is sorted the SVS is a superb bike.

I always got on fine withe the seat on mine. Bars and suspension were essentials I'd do again if I had another one.

Quick update, just ran out of fuel 20 miles earlier than usual and got rescued by my dad. Remember to look down or you won’t see the light come on anymore :)

I’m not finding the seat an issue at the moment Bibio so hopefully will be ok on longer rides. Janeflakes I have already done the suspension, calipers, discs and had fairings on and painted. No more jobs now. Just need a new heated grip as the right ones just gone
