So that's a no then..... Also I've had a look at the rear wheel diagram and cannot figure out where these parts go if you could advise please. Cannot upload so link attached https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1oaFSosiKGm8rpEGoCTtWkRHdxASGWLXv
yes you do need it. it goes inside between the sprocket housing and the wheel hub. if you dont have it the sprocket housing will move too far inward when you tighten the axle up.

Thanks very much for the explanation Bibio....and regards to the link I attached on Google drive an ideas what they are?
those pics from the gdrive look like completely collapsed bearings but i could be wrong. might help if you could show us where they came from.
Oops, apologies, I genuinely thought you were having a giggle... so .. yes.. you will defo need that part.

Well that makes sense....now I compare them size wise pretty much a bank on match.....bearing broke the other night, found the ball bearings and that must be the housing so it's ****e to throw out. Thanks for clearing that up

Shouldn't think any manufacturer would include a wheel part that wasn't necessary would they ?!

Well if they earn an extra tenner from the sale I'd expect so
