Farcebook, shystagram, and WhassApp are all down. They share the same servers.

What was that about all your eggs in one basket?

Yup. That's the problem when one big guy runs some of the Mainstream Social Media.

Facebook putting profit before public good, says whistleblower Frances Haugen (https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2021/oct/03/former-facebook-employee-frances-haugen-identifies-herself-as-whistleblower)

Erm, hold on..... that's just the current, standard, neolib/capitalist model surely?

Every single company more than likely puts profit over everything else. Amazon & FB get the Lions share of the press due to their size and Global domination.

The company i work for has been raided by the FBI a couple of times previously . . . . . nothing found though (apparently) :joker:

I think on the whole you are probably correct DJ. I just don't believe it's either ethically or morally right, and in the long term, (well in human lifescales) it's certainly not sustainable.

I heard this happened just as a Whistleblower was giving a news piece on CNBC. Coincidence? Or does the site have to be taken down to remove all the material she sent to the media :D

With all the misinformation on the pandemic, politics and the spreading of conspiracy theories, I hope it stays down. It's allowed the village idiots of the world to unite. Worse still it's allowed hostile countries to spread division and is possibly the biggest threat to democracy since WW2.
(disclaimer - I'm not a fan)
