So today 50 years ago I got a telephone call from a friend to say it had just been on the 6 o'clock news. That I would have to send my driving licence in and would only be able to ride a moped until I was 17! Had to get my Raleigh Moped road legal! No Suzuki AP50's then!��

And they’ve been making it more and more difficult ever since.

I’ve no idea exactly what the route is to a full bike licence these days other than it’s very complicated.

I asked the guys in the bike shop when I was in for the MOT the other day and they weren’t very sure either!
