I was at Coco, in Welshpool, with a couple of friends and while we were sat talking over a coffee we had a monsoon type downpour. Broad Street turned into a river for a short while!

I waited until it passed before I got back on the bike to come home, but between Belan and Garthmyl I rode under the edge of it. Fortunately I was out the other side again in a couple of minutes so it never had the chance to soak through my leathers!

I just made it back indoors again before it caught up with us here. It's hammering down again now and there's lots of thunder rumbling away too. It sounds like the storm is pretty much over the top of us now.

Love a good storm, me.

So it got lighter, or there was lightning? :)

(one day after agreeing with Piers Morgan and I've turned into "that guy", sorry)

I got caught in a downpour yesterday whilst riding. First time my SV has been in that much rain. Still, my wet weather gear hanging in my wardrobe stayed dry.

Lightning does usually cause lightening, rather than darkness. So technically Gary is right :study: ;)

Delete a few of the intevening posts and no-one would ever know there was a typo mistake in the first place.;)

I just love the banter that crops up here. It's almost as if we're all still allowed to be human (i.e. with flaws that are tolerated) - I didn't think that was allowed on the internet anymore and I'm hugely grateful:notworthy:

It's one of the things that I think make this such a great place.

Now then, it would appear that the only people in this thread with the incorrect spelling are Seeker and Darren. :p

At some point somebody will look back at this thread and think, "What the hell was that about?". Although if Darren leaves his post title as it is.......:smt096

Talking about thread titles, as the posts on here are more about the lightning, shouldn't it be "Rain, thunder, and lightning"?

Ha ha! Welcome to the party Yoko, hope you have a note explaining why you're late. :p

I was taught to never use the Oxford comma by Mrs. Henderson, my O-level English teacher and a high-class prostitute.

I'd just like to point out that I got wet whilst out on the bike today. First time in flip knows how long. Happy to say that the new waterproof gloves I bought ahead of the BP Weekender (and certainly did not need on that weekend!) are excellent. Shame my very elderly boots left me with damp socks...

On the plus side, as Hugh is now very dirty I am less likely to be told off by Spannerman in three weeks when I drop the bike off for a service :smt023. Last year I was chastised in his usual leg-pulling way for "not riding it enough", despite the tail end of the lockdowns partly getting in the way. :D
