View Full Version : Garage Storage
Thought I’d put this up on the org as no-one’s interested round here [emoji23]
Moved house just before lockdown. Got all the decoration done and can now get onto the garage.
I wanted storage and a decent workbench at the back of the garage. I was looking at the metal/roller bearing/dream garage stuff but it’s mega bucks.
I had an ex demo kitchen from MFI in my last garage and it was great, so settled for the cheapo IKEA KNOXHULT units - 2 each of the base and wall units. Filled in the gap with some Contiboard shelves. Metal peg board from Amazon, cheapo led strip lights and a 3 metre oak worktop bought online. Less than £700 for the lot.
Still a fair bit just for a garage but I’m funny like that [emoji3]

Is that a coaster on the worktop by the vice?? In a garage???
I'd be frightened of getting things dirty :D
I daren't put up a photo of mine.

I was going to say... it looks better than our kitchem!
Considering how much time I spend in the garage I think my family really should invest in this sort of thing for me :-)

Funny you should say that. Was thinking the same myself. [emoji6]

It was a sample of PVC interlocking floor tiles but, yeah, I’m using it as a coaster. [emoji851]
The last one had an oak top too and it does end up black eventually.

Same here John :p
Sorted out my saw storage with these magnetic holders. According to my daughter it’s “giving major serial killer vibes” [emoji23]

Used up the height with some shelves above the garage doors. Good for the less frequently used stuff like decorating tools.

To keep the workbench free I’ve mounted a couple of things (like this ‘ere bench grinder) on bases that I can secure in the woodworking vice. Works a treat.
Nicked the idea from somewhere but don’t recall where.

All the washing and polishing gear on an IKEA Billy bookcase. Spray guns hanging on a couple of kitchen cabinet handles. [emoji106]

And finally, shadow foam in the toolbox gives me immense pleasure every time I open a drawer.

I’ve been accused of OCD but I don’t think it’s that. It’s definitely something though[emoji23]

:smt103 Those saws have some "Final Destination" vibes hanging like that, especially the ones with the nunchuck style handles :reaper:
