You may think I'm a bit soft in the head for posting this, but it really spoke to me for some reason. Make of it what you will....

"All nature has a feeling: woods, fields, brooks
Are life eternal; and in silence they
Speak happiness beyond the reach of books;
There's nothing mortal in them; their decay
Is the green life of change; to pass away
And come again in blooms revivified.
Its birth was heaven, eternal is its stay,
And with the sun and moon shall still abide
Beneath their day and night and heaven wide."
John Clare. (13 July 1793 – 20 May 1864).

Very evocative, that. Reminds me of Marvell's 'The Garden' which has the wonderful couplet:

Annihilating all that’s made
To a green thought in a green shade

I had to go and look up that one. I do like that. The folly of mankind believing we can improve nature.
