16.68 litres is how much petrol Tesco say that I just put in my Yamaha tank. Pretty good for a 14 litre capacity tank (and no spillage).


I only noticed because my own fuel consumption calculation showed 49mpg instead of the mid 70s - I don't normally keep the receipts but this time I did.

Update: it wasn't my receipt! When I checked my bank I had been charged £14.58 (about 9 litres) not the £24 it says on the receipt and the time stamp on the receipt was 10:06am whereas I was there about noon.

Not sure if there is some sort of fiddle going on there by the retailer or not... Perhaps the bored pump jockeys are giving people random receipts to see how many people notice?
