Well folks it comes to us all in the end, when the arthritis and worn out body parts makes riding a treat rather than a daily experience. However, the wife has had a model kit of her favourite bike sat around for years and so with my air brush in hand and a lot of swearing that has been bleeped out, I made this...

The wife filmed it because her life is nearly as empty as mine and she made it into a series of short films of me building the various parts of the diorama. I did make a small one for a model of my SV, complete with modifications and I am now planning a new bigger scale of the SV, but it means scratch building the whole lot. Should be fun, will likely result in head scratching, extreme swearing, occasional cut fingers and even more swearing. Yay, happy days.

Brilliant videos and fab diorama build Jayne. The videos kept me thoroughly engrossed. Well done!

Awww, thank you. The wife will be pleased, she worked really hard on the videos because that build took me a few days. :D

Actually, you are not wrong. Like every artist, there are some things that I learned along the way, that I would do differently now. When I made the prototype of this model, I used an R1 for reference and then made a boxy 1980's phonebox as the light source, which the wife absolutely hated. So the first thing I would change is obviously the wife! :smt082

Since the wife's daughter came out as gay/Gender non-conforming, we have had some really lovely family moments together, as the girl settles into her new life. Her first step was obviously to buy the biggest, fastest motorbike she could find, which she now rides almost everywhere, bless her. In doing so she has also dragged me out on my bike and I have ridden more this year than I have done in the last three. My poor body feels battered now and I really want new knees, hips, back and brain! :smt103

Kids, wow they can be hard work... It was worth it to see the look on her face though. :smt050
