Sorry to hear that mate. Memories are always a nice thing to hold onto.
My 2024 has started badly too. My step daughter has Breast cancer, my daughter has pneumonia & my dad passed away, but, I always try to keep strong for other people around me

You both have my sympathies - life can be tough at times, more so it seems as we grow older.

Sorry to hear this Bibs and Col. Life has a few curve balls for us occasionally and they can be difficult to deal with emotionally. Hope things head in the right direction for you both as the year progresses.

We cannot compare to your memories of Mrs B but we're here for you Bibs.

It's not great for our clan either - my dad's cancer has not gotten any worse but another close rellie has a very aggressive dose of it and will be lucky to see Easter.

Thoughts with all.
My Dad died at the end of November, he was 95 and had been pretty well right up until the end, his heart just gave out and it was barely 24hrs between him getting his own breakfast one day and being into hospital and gone the next. A decent way to go.
Mum is 94 and struggling to cope with it a bit. We make headway and then she has a bit of a fallback. Still, today I took her for new hearing aids and she can hear again! I have to keep reminding myself not to shout. She's got some super helpers coming in 3 times a day, that's working pretty well.
I live 140mls away, so far I've done the return trip every week, half time at home half time with Mum, I don't think I can keep that up for much longer, it's too wearing, but for now it is what it is.
Days are getting brighter!
