I managed to catch this pic of today's early morning sky while waiting for a train at 6:15am

We spent a long weekend at a glamping site just outside of Nottingham. Visited Newark and the air museum nearby. We also called into Nottingham itself as well as a visit to Attenborough Nature Reserve. Took a walk around there as well as along the very swollen River Trent. I caught this shot as well turned back from a flooded footpath (someone coming the other way said it was impassable, but we came at it from the other way and it was fine, just muddy) I really liked the light and the reflection.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240227/f2afdbe05ba21286c3c2de5aae1ac5f8.jpg

That's looking very clean John, given where it's stood for the picture!

Went for a walk around the Ickworth Estate today. The sun poked it's head out for a moment while we were having a break so I grabbed this shot.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240329/5c5434128da141ed9c6f8d35126c3645.jpg

I like the silhouette of the tree against the sky there. It really stands out in sharp relief.

Not really in the right area but wanted to try and make sure Kenzie sees it. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/nostalgia/graveyard-twisted-metal-litters-uks-29009812#comments-wrapper
Yeah, that's the one. Will be up there in June.

We did make it to Bleaklow too

If anyone has been up there, you'll realise how close they came to clearing the top of the hill.
Sorry for not editing myself out of the first one, but I took the 360 camera to Bleaklow too.

The 360 camera is very cool. Hope the holiday was good and relatively rain free.We were very lucky with the weather. It rained a bit as we got there (after we'd set up the tent) and on the morning we were leaving, again it stopped just before we packed up. Would definitely go back as there is a lot more to see in the area.

I've lusted after these for years. It was a bit disappointing to be honest!
It is so vibey! I'm well used to V twins but this is worse than my SV and Dorsoduro were by a long way. Low revs, high revs, the whole bike is shaking. I'd expect a lot of numbness on long rides. I was concerned for the brake reservoir, it was shaking around that much. The tank feels very angular where my legs grip it and was getting sore quite quickly.
The power is bonkers, feels like too much torque for a bike to have! A lot of fun to play with. Weight and handling felt surprisingly light.
As I was testing out the rev range it seemed to be hitting a limiter and wouldn't rev past 6/7k rpm. Thought it was anti-wheelie at first but the front wasn't coming up at all. Surely not a rev limiter on a demo bike?
Then the engine light came on and it showed a few errors. Seemed to go into limp mode after that with limited power. So back to the dealer. This was only about 20 minutes into the test ride.
https://i.imgur.com/JjaGJCMh.jpg
I'm glad I tried it, but it's definitely not the bike for me. The vibration and comfort are a deal breaker. The quickshifter wasn't nearly as smooth as my bike, the dash interface not as slick either.
Never meet your heros ;)
Not my cup of tea either. Also I've not heard great things about the reliability and build quality of KTM's

I fitted a little bar end mirror. It really helps on the road knowing what is coming up behind. I normally cycle on the pavement and cycle paths but didn't feel so unsafe on the road with the mirror.

Cheers Gary. Not far, just down to Broughty Ferry and along the front to the docks and back
Today I've been recommissioning my Subaru. It's been sat on a shelf in the garage for 30 years. Tyres were rotten and the NICAD batteries dead. New tyres now fitted and updated to NIMH batts.

The Aurora over Bollington last night was amazing, vivid rose pinks and rippling radar-screen green, I've never seen anything like it. As visible as this with the naked eye:

Not very biker-ish I know. In fact there are general chat and picture threads on some bike forums I definitely would not be posting this, but I feel the .org is forgiving and broadminded enough to cope with this picture.

We've got weird weather here, with a temperature inversion so that it's dense fog at sea level but if you go up in the hills, it's dazzling sunshine with the entire Cheshire Plains covered in a downy white blanket.
Took this pic from a viewpoint above Macc, the town is completely invisible under the fog. It's about 6 miles as the crow flies from where the pic was taken to the comms tower on the hill.
