Went for a walk with Mabel in the woods. Right foot slipped off the muddy footpath and ended up shin deep in the water two feet below, left leg folded up underneath me with all my weight on it. Hurt a bit but subsided quickly, finished the walk. Got home, showered, changed, and my knee swelled up. Now so painful I can hardly move. Agony to walk, effing painful to sit or stand still. Slathered in Ibuprofen gel but hasn't really helped. Going to swallow some Paracetamol.
Excruciating pain, don't know what to do with myself. :-(

Ooof. If it's still bad tomorrow, some ibuprofen with codeine (Nurofen Plus) or Paramol should help. In the meantime, a large nightcap!

Can't take Ibuprofen because of the Methotrexate I've been on for the last 17 years Spoke with the 111 folks and I'm going to the minor injuries unit in Welshpool tomorrow.
Paracetamol has taken the edge off it, but still hobbling very painfully.
Time to get into a warm bed!

Big improvement this morning. Knee is still a bit painful but much better and I can walk on it again. Needs a few days to mend.

Fingers crossed its nothing more than a bruise or minor strain.

I didn't go in the end Mike, as it was sufficiently improved by yesterday morning. I'm walking more or less normally on it again now, although I'm being careful about any twisting movement. Just relieved it's healing so quickly.

Went with Mabel, and a friend and her dogs for a cautious 4 mile walk over at Llanymynech this afternoon. All was good and the knee feels better for the walk. Just need to avoid any twisting movements at the knee for now, and go gently coming down steps.

Hoping to be sufficiently recovered for a 3 - 4 mile run on Tuesday evening. We'll see....
