Abba Stand question ?

Can I work on the front end using an ABBA stand without the extra ,"Front Wheel" kit ?

No the weight is on the front wheel. Back end is off the ground.

The front wheel kit adds another bracket on the ground to stabilise the front and lets you tie the back wheel down if I remember right.

I think it's just some box with another box at 90° to mount onto the stand, there's probably specs out there as I know there are ABBA copies.

When the front wheel is off does rear wheel go down ?

...or put a sand-bag on the pillion seat. It keeps the front up fine. The suggested jack under the front is better obviously, more stable.

Thanks for all the info. I usually use a Front and rear Paddock stand but the ABBA stands look more stable and with easier access etc. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a 2nd hand one at a decent price :)

I have one of them, well might not be the exact one but they are all the same I'd expect. Mine is currently holding a NT650 off the ground that doesnt have a centre stand. You'll need some blocks of wood to spread the weight under the engine as those cups to me look to be for use with a cradle frame. I've used it on my SV as well along with a ABBA stand to lift the front (with the addition of a rod through the hole near the oil filter) as the ABBA front lift jack is rubbish and I no langer have it for that reason.
