Only looked into the K&N and stock options, as I don't intend to put in a new exhaust (though I would love a twin high level Rene)
K&N does not increase power on it's own - only washable (unlike the OEM) considering the frequency of replacement (I do mine every 11,000 miles) it ain't worth the expense.

from what i have heard the K&N filter has a hole slightly larger than the stock filter, the bmc (rs i think) has an open top (no hole or snorkel) filter which would allow more air in giving marginally better performance

I am looking for more power and sound.
I will also fit the leovinci, and rejet. but i don't know what sounds best and increases power most :?:

i would say that the bmc will give off slighly more power and a bit more noise than the k+n as the engine doesnt have to suck through a hole like in the k&n
but i could be wrong i am only making an educated guess, jhs obviosly use the bmc rather than the k+n for some reason other than cost i would imagine
thanks m8. I think i'll try the BMC then.

make sure its the right type though as there is 3 different bmc filters you need the (rs i think?)
Are you sure about that :?: I just called the danish BMC importer, and he claims that BMC only makes standard and race versions. It could be because he dosn't want to get it home for me, but i can't seem to find a homepage from BMC to check it out. :?
I finally got my BMC filter, after waiting for ages :!: :!:
It says "RACE" on the box, and the filter has the same number as the box, but it does not have an open top  . It has a hole, but not a snorkel.
Does anyone know if it is the rigth filter, i have got :?:

BMC make three filters! There is the Road and the Race version but the one you are after is the Race RS version.
The Race RS filter is the only one with the cut out (rather than the regular sized hole). Best bet would be to give JHS Racing a call and get one from them.

I spoke to PDQ m/cs and they said that K&N have a new filter for the SV as their original offering was crap, but I don't know how it compares to the BMC. NB. K&N are washable so have a long life. I'm not endorsing them, just letting you know.
 I have heard a rumor that the new K&N is a copy of renegades pancake filter? Not confirmed. Be interseting if it is!!!
The K & N Airfilter does have a wopping great hole, and where the stock item has a lip there isn't one. You do need to add a pipe and Dynojet kit to make it all work but having just done this, it makes me wonder why I took do long to get round to it :D

I haven't really seen much info on the other options. The renegade kit gives something like about 9hp boost in the midrange which is pretty spectacular (it replaces the entire airbox, not just the filter on the 2003 kit). Are there any alternatives for the '03 that provide this sort of impressive power boost?
