Bluebell has just got a new bike and refered to it as a he. I was just wondering what gender (he/she/it) you use when talking about your bike?

:-k I've always thought about my bike as an 'it'.

i'd go with she... wives and bikes, they both cost a lot of money after dumping them

Generally vehicles of any form, be it motorcycle, car or boat, all tend to be "she", not often (if ever) I've seen otherwise, although I can imagine that a big supercharged V8 Dodge wouldn't really be right being labelled as "she".

At any rate, my SV650 is certainly a she. Only female I can be bothered with at the moment ;-)

Do the ladies on the forum refer to their machines as he or she?

Who ever heard of a boy named Suzi? Of course she's a girl. Talk nicely to her and she goes like the clappers

hadnt really thought about it, Im not one of these people that give their bikes and cars names but I suppose it would have to be a he (dont like the idea of riding a she) and I do give it a good thrashing every now and then something you should never do to a female so yes definitely HE

regularly use the term screwing the nuts off it, has to be male really

Definitely a she....

She's called Eve as well (From the numberplate W***EEV :)

She's normally a great ride, but occasionally, (usually in poor weather) she can behave like a little bitch.

Mine's defintitely a she for reasons already posted by other riders. It just wouldn't be right slinging my leg over a he and going to heaven and back. :D

I'm a bit out of place on this forum as my bike's not called Suzi - it's called Duke for obvious reasons. This would suggest it's a boy BUT how can anything with a glittery tank be male?! So I'll vote for a fourth option - confused!

I hope this post is not read by any psycology students, it could prove to be an interesting Degree paper.

That aside, I guess mine's a 'she' but really it's too small for gender to matter and is referred to as 'my little SV' in most chat.

But she is black and slinky!

Both my SVs have been boys. The K1 was called SylVester (Isaac named him) and the current one's Thomas (as in Tom and Jerry).

And guess what? They're the only blokes I've ever been able to rely on!

Even though I'm a girl I refer to my beauty as a 'she'.

You don't get males looking that pretty  (well, most of the time) and she's far more reliable too !
