I love both looks. Please give me your input and let me know which one you prefer and why. I am planning on buying one in a couple weeks.

Thanks.

hi, i find the faring on the s so much more comfortable on long journeys, and no neck ache which i used to get with a naked. the pegs are slightly higher but not really enough to make much difference, im 6' and have no probs.
if your using it for long runs or mway work then go for the s model, but if its just for town riding then its purely down to looks!
nice avatar by the way!!!

dan
either way you should get a blue one coz they're fastest!!!

Thats the kind of info I am looking for. I am kinda leaning towards the s model.

the gearing is slightly changed on the s and the footpegs moved slightly via a different hanger i believe

but still not uncomfortable far from it

Depends what sort of riding you do, town stuff take the unfaired, if you like a good blast, and I kind of like the full fairing look of a sports bike.
It's your choice, good luck what ever.
Cracking avtar.

if you want the 'street fighter' look (i believe that's what the phrase is), there are some really nice naked's on this site with bits on. how ever if you're after a sportyish tourer, the SVs with lowers is porno.

Of course it has to be blue

to copy the other bloke, it really is a splendid avatar. it's commendable!

by the way, i'm 6ft4 & although I hunt for the pegs a bit when i set off, the riding position is fine, in fact i like the feeling of being really over the top of the bike, without lying across the tank with your nose on the speedo.

I think it depend a lot on how you like to ride and how flexible you are in the arms, back, neck. If most of your riding is at higher speeds and you are young and flexible the S is probaly the way to go. If you spend most of your time at speeds below the national speed limit and also if you like a more upright riding position the naked model is great.

I ride quite a lot in town and the more upright position on my naked bike gives a great view through the traffic.

Go for the naked, put on Renthal bars and ride with a little attitude! If you're a wuss get the S model (runs for cover!).

Talking about naked, although your Avatar is without doubt showing a healthy personal fitness exercise it's been used in the past and has been objected to by several of the female members... Just thought you'd like to know.

Buy both

Take em both for a test ride, see which one you prefer.

I commute on the SVS and its been comfortable, no wrist ache, can see over cars, plus has the benefit of wind protection on the motorway.

I'd probably be just as happy on the naked, just stick a little fairing on it for motorway use.

It really is personal choice, only you can decide.

I'd rather a supermoto for commuting. :) Might have to look into trading in my RS125 and getting a KTM Duke. Keep the SVS for motorways and weekend fun.

jonboy, you have to let it stay. the number of hits on this site would collapse. it's quality

Me to (in blue that is)

Really though i would give both a thorough test drive and go from there.

it is the only way to assess any bike is up to your needs.

and DO take a fairly long run on roads you know well .

IMHO, and I am back to biking after a long time, the S is the way to go.
I have been out recently when the temp was 5 and never felt the cold on a fully faired bike. The lower riding position hurt my wrists for a couple of days but I guess you get over that.

If you're tall and only want a bike to throw around the twisties go naked. If you're short and want to ride for hours, go for the half clothed.

But If your tall and want to ride for hours by a V-Strom or a Bandit.

Hope this helps!! I almost wished I'd gone naked as it might have slowed me down abit!! The Bike just gags for it!

2nd that. Just done 220 miles in the mist and cold weather that the tv people call sunshine and didn't feel it too much thanks to the fairing. Running in is now complete and 1st service done. \:D/

Worth trying both, esp. as the K4 naked is listed at £4350ish. Bargain!

Well, it's all down to (a) which you think looks best and (b) what you want to use your bike for.

Personally, I think the naked bike is far more attractive to look at without all the bits of plastic at the front - but then I'm much more a fan of retro and naked bikes than sportsbikes. I appreciate if you want to do lengthy journeys then the S version is going to offer better wind/weather protection but (here comes the heresy) would question whether the S version is the best bike for that anyway!

The good thing about the naked bike is that it feels fast at legal(ish) speeds and you get the buzz without damaging your licence.

I have commuted periodically during the winter for a 50 minute journey at temperatures down to zero without feeling cold so doubt if the warmth (or lack of it is a deciding factor.

another very impressive avatar, when do we get to see part II.

by the way, i honestly can't see what all the fuss is about with tall tiders on SVs's. Folks go on as though they're monkey bikes. :-s
