Anyone got these & managed to reduce squeaking to less than acutely-embarrassing?

Mine have only been used a few weeks, but if anything they're getting louder :? The oil supplied seems a joke..........

yup i have the same and now they only squeek when it rains

the solution wear them as often as possible to break them in and then get them as dirty as possible

If they're anything like my SMX3's then WD40 works wonders.

Yes,
compared to a pair of Sidi black rain (which were faulty) they are comfortable for me too.
I bought mine from a local dealer, & thought I was going to get a bargain, but the examples that were discounted were the 2003 range & they are much smaller made. I bought a 2004 size 41, & could hardly get my foot into a 2003/41. The older ones are distinguishable by the "OXTAR" name being a sticker & the 2004's having raised plastic lettering. The least gaudy are black/silver. The other colours are black/blue or blk/red.....& there's much more of the blue/red on those.
But christ do they squeak!

I have a pair of them, and I think they are super! Really comfortable, the only bad thing is, as you said, the bloody squeaking! It comes with a small tube of silicone oil (or something like that) that stops the noice. I can strongly recommend the boots!

Dead easy this one.

My TCS evos squeeked like hell when I got them at first. Big can of "Back to Black" from the car boot and sprayed all over/ into the moveable plastic bits. RESULT! Much better in the squeek department and there's enough left to de-squeek & clean them dozens of times more.

Cheers,
Garry

I wear these boots & agree the squeak is shocking.

A dod of chain lube once every few months does the trick.

Quiet as a door mouse after that.

You can stop squeeking on many types of boots by spraying the silicon spray used to make bikes shiny into the rubbing areas ;) (motul shine and go is a good one)

have to agree. Been wearing mine in for weeks and it's like wearing clogs - so uncomfortable. Tried everything to get rid of the squeaking silicon oil, wd40, chain lube - absolute nightmare.

Do yours have a severe lack of feel on the gear lever side? I can't get any bend into them.

I have them, really comfy, squeek like hell. I used the silicone stuff that I got with my visor.

Halfords silicone spray. Cheap and it works on my Oxtars!

Did about 40 miles this afternoon in the new boots - they already feel like I have had them for years! Took a little bit of getting used to the fact that the toe is slightly taller than my old Styl Martins but other than that I was very impressed! Didnt even squeak when I went into a petrol station! :D

I bought a pair of Oxtar TCS boots in December 06.
Brilliant boots, considering I ride 36 miles a day to and from work.
they do well in the rain but i do have to wear two pairs of socks on cold days.

The only problem is the squeaking. IT DRIVES ME INSANE.
What do you guys reckon is the best remedy. Ive been a bit scared of putting lube on them as I'm unsure if lube would do any damage to the leather

I bought a pair of TCS Evo Norick Abe Replica boots off FleaBay CE approved and titanium bits for £90 bargain:thumbsup: .

They fit really well, look cool (white/black colour scheme) are comfy and warm enough on cooler days and cool enough on warmer days (those we have had this year) they squeak a little but just keep them oiled. I've only done about 1000 miles in them so they are not quite broken in yet.
