As much as I'd like to. I don't think that either my bike or myself are in good enough condition to make the trip

Have fun though and stay safe

Timings? If you can get me safely home by 6pm without breaking the sound barrier, I'm in.

2 out of the 3 weather sites I have been to say overcast for Sunday, 10% chance of precipitation (that's rain to you & me..), so looks like it should be OK.

Looks like it's going to be quiet thaough as very little interest in this one.

Professor

i might be able to make it, but only for the morning - a friend who I haven't seen in a couple of years in unexpectedly in town and has selfishly planned her trip to coincide with the rideout!

This 4 pot lark has gone to your head.... Morning will be fine, but we may see the odd shower later. I expect to see you suited & booted in your leathers tomorrow... None of this denim stuff, just because you've got a Gixxer doesn't mean you HAVE to play the hooligan all the time.

Still planning to be there.

The weather here in Wiltshire was OK today. Mostly dry, only a 15 minute
bout of heavy rain at around 5:30PM. If tomorrow is like today shouldn't
be a problem.

SteveH
10-07-04, 07:52 PM

Jelster
11-07-04, 05:48 PM
Well that was fun.... 270 miles today, met new friends, did some great roads and really enjoyed myself... Thanks all who turned out.

You get used to it, believe me. I can now stand a constant 100mph without a problem.

Er, no. Don't do it. Please. Naked is cool, partly clothed isn't!

Glad you all had a good time.

Nice to meet you guys, not my first choice of roads, but fun never the less.

My apologies to those suffering any hearing impediment.

(Yes Steve nail is a nice shade of purple now.)

Cheers Mark.

I wasn't sure which way to go so stopped at a petrol station to read the
map. Then saw you blast past and followed at my geriatric pace.
Met the remainder of the group in Calne.

Being more or less local I covered only 210 miles yesterday. Still,
feel a bit tired. Good thing I don't have a tennis match today.

 I seem to have offended the style police . . .
It was meant as a joke, the point being that I should have got a faired bike rather than a naked if I want to zoom around the countryside (ducks down to avoid incoming . . .).
Are fender extenders considered cool :?: , if so, anyone know where I can get one that will fit a K4, as the one I ordered from Busters is the wrong shape

Nah, you just need big neck muscles unlike these nancy boys who hide behind fairings... ;)

They're not cool but we allow them ( ) as they're pretty effective at keeping the water off the front plug.

Put the one from Busters on the For Sale forum and I'm sure someone here will know where to source a K3/4 item.

This nancy boy had a fairing and me neck hurts anyway :)
Guess it was having to face up to all that wind AND Rictus's sonic boom :D (and then there's the noise his bike made as well  )

I'm glad you guys had a good day. I would have come myself but I had quiet a big night on saturday and couldn't drag my ass out of bed.

What did you guys think to the route? Which bits do you reckon are worth remembering?

My aunt live in ciren (you rode straight passed her front door) and I'm thinking I might ride out and stay with her for a weekend and do some riding that way. makes it a little less of a hasle if I could get the crap bit on the motorway out of the way the night before. also means I can have a bit of a lay-In :D

The first part between the start on the A420 and Lambourn ( we took an "alternative" to the intended route  ) and the A435 Cheltenham to Cirencester road.... woohoo :D

Guys, I used to live in Cheltenham and know the road that you are talking about. Verry envious indeed
