View Full Version : F.Fabbri double bubble screen
Fitted one to my SK4 today, well all I can say is that is was totally painless, took less than 10 mins from start to finish and I think the results look great.
Pics to follow, it's been pi$$ing down today :(
Oh, I found the best way of geting the rubber nut things back in was to screw the bolt back into it a bit and them push it into the hole (pushing against the bolt head) and then just tighten up.
Apologies if everyone knows that already
It didn't look like my rubbery bits were going to fit through in that direction :( Maybe being an older model the rubber was slightly stiffer?
What I did in the end was to wrap insulation tape very tightly around the rubber bits that are supposed to be on the outside so they were pre-compressed, and leave a bit of extra tape as something to grab onto. I then put the rubber bits on the screen and slotted it in place, fished the ends of the tape through the holes in the fairing, then pulled the tape off, leaving all the rubber bits in the right place.
Err, I think it was easier to do than to explain :P

Mine is a SY model so the rubber is getting a bit old but I just put a bit of fairy liquid on the rubber nuts and they popped in with a minimum of fuss.
Hole alignment was good but there is a bit of a gap between the screen and trim, My bro was always telling me to put a double bubble on it as it was draughty compared to riding his duc. (Puff). Now there is nowhere near the force on my chest, but the wind still wants to rip my lid off.
Feels like I'm completely out of the wind with mine on now, but I am a bit of a short-**** :D
yeah.. I fitted one today... painless, except for getting the grommits out, was using a pair of pliers and I manged to slip and put a scratch in the fairing, no worries though cos it was duffed up already anyway
Easiest way of getting them back in was the method described using the bolts partly screwed in.
THe screen came with a warning about melting clocks and not to park the bike facing the sun, or put something opaque over the clocks which I thought was interesting considering recent discussions..

Be warned though there are a few of them ;-)

I've just fitted mine too :D , I went for the Lite tint, a doddle to fit and it not only looks the db's it does the job ie. especially when your doing 80 passed a truck in the p++ssing rain.
Guy H has a good tip for getting the rubbers back in although I just made sure the holes were aligned and pushed them in.
I can say that the is a little gap inside at the top edge but I intend to fit some more adheasive black foam stip, the same as is further down the inside of the screen, then again I probably won't bother cos it doesn't really notice.
I'll post some pics, I've taken some but I think /www.imagecave. is having site problems, in the meantime if you want to see email me.

That's good, you can't beat word of mouth to recomend the right product, there's a lot of CRAP out there so its great when you have a site like this one to access infomation direct from the consumer (us bikers).
That reminds me I have to post something on the clothing section, got to go Have fun.

Thanks! :D :D Oh the hugger tale... I bought it from a company out of Quebec called Rumble Import (http://www.rumbleimport.com/store/Scripts/home.asp). The hugger was for a <K2 and they told me it would fit a K3 as the swing arm did not change. Well... I got this thing all sprayed, went to fit it and... it wouldn't go. So I had the autobody guy who sprayed it fit it for me. It looks fine. You have to know what your looking for to notice. Thanks,
Mitch

Are these F Fabri screens the best in everyones opinion?
They seem to be most popular!
I just want to make sure I get the best fit for a K2, and I have to move my Meta alarm LED because the numpty fitter stuck it on the screen :?
Just got one, very impressed with the screen.
Does anyone use a cover over their SV without any problems? I'm worried it might end up ripping my Stormex to shreds as the edge feels fairly sharp and not smooth.

grab some screen trim, about a fiver.. fits over the edge and makes things all smooth
Mine can with screen trim in the pack... though unfortunately there wasn't quite enough!
Managed to trim it nicely where the screen curves back on itself though so it still works. 8)
