Well, I just retired my battered HJC after a year and about 4500 miles... The padding had basically given up the ghost, and any motorway riding instantly led to the chinpiece squashing back into my face :( Also, since I chose the limited edition, trick-looking but non-durable matt black finish, the thing looked shocking... Covered in wee scratches, and really blotchy and faded. Wouldn't be a problem with the standard finish.
But then again. it was an £80 lid, and they're available now at even less... They're heavy, but mine was as comfy as anything, windproof when the vents were closed, no noisier than my new Arai Condor, and even though it's only got 2 vents, they're very effective.
Basically, if you want an inexpensive, good looking fibreglass lid that'll inspire confidence, you could do worse. I wouldn't expect lifetime service, but SV owners have got to appreciate good performance at a low price :)
