Used Tires

I recently got a bolt in my rear tire :x and have been looking for a good used tire (new ones are sooo expensive). The only place i have been able to find any is ebay and all they have are rain tires. Is it ok to ride on a rain tire all the time? Will it affect the handling and/or ride? Any one know where to get cheap tires? Any advice for buying a used tire? Any and all info would be appreciated.

Yes, don't.

A M/C has practically no rubber in contact with the tarmac (Asphalt) and what you have you better be able to rely on. Sticking on someone elses cast of is not something I would ever consider.

Consider where a used tyre may have come from

1 a crashed bike; the forces may have done damage to the integrity of the tyre that you just cant see.

2 a track tyre; it will be shagged

I cant see why you would want to risk your life saving a few pennies.

If its a rain tyre, it will be a racing tyre, called wets. It will last 10 minutes on a dry road. and it is probably shagged anyway. why would anyone take a good tyre off a rim?

Either get your old tyre repaired or buy another new one,
