Just got hold of a pair of these.

having owned a couple of pairs a standard smx boots and liked them, I was looking for another pair and came across a few pairs of the SMX Plus's and liked the safety features.
Not for the faint hearted, so to speak. buthen I'm not known for my conservative tastes.

Had a couple of trips in the rain, and they have held up well , with no leaks.

I thought they would take sometime to "break in" as they looked a bit "plasticy", but because of the internal comfort boot, they are really good.

Flexable where you need it (at the toe, for gear changes) and stiff where you need the protection.

I'll report back on their durability over the next couple of thousand miles, we'll see.

They feel as protective as my motocross boots, I use in the winter, but as flexable as my summer race boots.

Now I don't normally spend anything like the £200 retail these are sold for,
However as I got these new within my budget, they represent some of the best boots I've ever owned.

i have these in black, goretex...not let any water in, they are by far my most used footwear...i ride all weathers, only got slightly cold in the very cold weather, to slider does wear down quickly its only been down once or twice but has a healthy flat spot...other than that a great boot. been in a crash as well, although they didnt really have any work to do as i just went in the air and landed....they break in well and are comfy...im looking to resole them soonish...dont wanna be spending another £180 really...

Unfortunately not, I believe he was wearing Frank Thomas Aquas at the time. Typical eh?

indeed, as Greg says, I was wearing the FT Aquas, the toe slidders on the SMX-Plus boots would have been in just the right position to at least minimise the damage to a greater extent.

Cheers Mark.

I got mine in black for £149.99 including postage in October last year. I had to wait for them to come from Italy, though. It took about 4 weeks, but I was hardly using the bike at the same, so not such a biggy.

Ive got pair in red/black/silver, and they are sooo comfy! NOT ideal boots for a learner though as it does take some used to changing gear in them.
Only one complaint-They squeak!!! and NOTHING stops them.

That will be in the next couple of days then :P

They are really nice boots. They have tried to update them by creating the smxr's similar style with the adjusted strap at the top of the boot instead of velco, and a nice design too. Not as leary (i know mark likes leary ) as the smx plus red boots with a nice mixture of black and red but all in all the smx are very nice range of bike boots.

get some of that silicon spray even the silicon that arai use on the rubber seal around the visor. the spray works best though (motul shine and go is a good one and makes the bike look fantastic too (and nice as it smells all lemony)

Girlfriend just had to return 2nd pair due to zip breaking again.

Looks like the only one to have this problem though.

I bought the white pair at first with the idea of a white simpson bandit helmet.

BUT i couldn't afford the helmet at the time and still can't so i'm glad I went back and changed them for the black ones. I paid £190 but I've had them for a year now. They had to order mine especially from the factory cos they wern't readilly avaiable last year! Not a problem with them at all!! And they go well with all my other AS gear!
