Well I have done it at last. Yesterday I went out on my first rideout since "the accident". How did I find it :?: Sh*t a brick at every corner, but as the day progressed I trusted the people that I rode with and kept up with them on the bends. The roads were wet and slippery which didn't help matters. I think I was most nervous because I know that my pelvis has a long way to go before properly healed and was scared that I would do damage if I went down again.

All in all I think it was a success. I still don't look eagerly for the next time that I ride my bike (tomorrow's comute to work). But I have learnt to trust my bike (a little) in the bends. I guess it's a phobia thing that I will have to ride through. Hopefully by the Spring I will be back to full confidence but without the over cockiness. Can't believe that after 20 years plus of riding I can feel this way about riding a bike. I have had some spectacular accidents in the past, but not one of them gave me a seconds doubt of my skills or riding. Strange.

All hail BigApe :notworthy:

That must have taken some guts (no jokes on this occasion). I doubt that I could do it after going through what you did.

Nuff said.

Good grief - just thinking about about landing on a serious injury like you had / have makes me wince. You're a braver man than I!

Take it easy dude - wet roads as well!

Well done Apeski  I can't say I'm there yet, either. Plan is to buy a bike and poodle round over winter, with a bit of luck (and no off) I'll be back to normal for next year.
