hey everyone -- it's been awhile since ive posted but i wanted you to share in my track experience!

i went to my friends to tape my bike up and remove the kickstand (just incase! i lowered my bike recently so it sits closer to the ground than it did before)

So my friend had his truck loaded to go to the track so I had to ride my bike all taped up about 6 miles in the dark! luckily we only saw two police officers and neither seemed to bothered about my blue tinted highbeams!

so i loaded my bike (and what seemed like most of my apartment) into a borrowed truck and headed to the track to watch a friend then camp and have my track time.

unfortunately the friend i went to watch that day crashed before i even made it to the track! the good news is, i got to ride on the track for 3 sessions that day! Since it was my first track session and everyone elses 4th or so, I had my very own control rider for the whole first session.

The control rider didn't really show me the lines, he sorta just guided everyone around me so they didn't run over me! Due to bad lines and having no idea to aim for the cones, I skidded my foot and peg in the left hander turn 2 times! oospie! The control rider actually had to tell me to speed up! On the streets, I usually downshift before a turn and don't brake often. As most of you know, on the track, it's different: speed up in the straights and hard brake before the turns. My sport touring Avon's heated up GREAT!

My second session I worked on hitting throttle hard in the straights and aiming for the cones -- what a difference!

By the 3rd and final session on Saturday, I knew how many gears to go up in the straights and down again. I finally had a rhythm! I even passed someone! woohoo!

After my session I grilled some food, smiled lots and got a good nights sleep. Gotta love tent camping at the track! Sunday morning I wake up with my alarm at 6am. It's still dark at 6am! After crawling out of my tent, I realized I was the only one awake. *boggle* I felt like going around reminding everyone that it's a track day! All sorts of trucks with bikes, trucks with trailers, cars with bikes came rolling in. I registered. After the instruction time, it was our turn to take on the track. Remember: cold tires, cold tires, cold tires! After the second lap I was ready to pickup the pace. I was still working on aiming for cones, shifting appropriately, etc. I still had a tough time hard braking before the turns. My rear tire would fishtail a bit -- not enough brake or too much downshifting? After the first few laps, we had a red fleg so we had to pit-in. But we survived!

I was working at getting off the seat but not necessarily dragging my knee(s). Next time :) Street riding is way different than track riding but I think I'll adapt :)

track information can be found at Summit Point Raceways -- Jefferson Circuit (http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/JC.HTM)

Hope you enjoyed my report :) i am going again on 10/30! :)

Glad you enjoyed that, your body-positioning looks very good. It's great to see so many girls now taking to the track.
