Just watched the 250 cc race today from Valencia and what a result for Chaz Davies riding a 5 year old Aprilia to finish 6th on the road but end up a place higher after the disqualification of Ayama.
I just hope that he can get some sponsorship and a decnt ride for next season. I think that with a couple of breaks he can be our next "Barry Sheene"
This season has been superb for him, certainly the last 4 or 5 races he has really challenged the factory boys.

He was my rider of the day. Qualified 10th, bad start leaves him 19th on lap 1 and yet he fights through past people like Rolfo and Nieto to finish 6th (5th).

Top banana  8)

been watching his progress all year he's getting better and better, makes you wander what he would do on a bike that isnt 5 years old

be good to see him getting some better equipment

Well done chaz !!!

Amazing wasn't it!! And the weather was superb 8), even managed a slight tan. Never watching a GP in the UK again, the Spanish know how to do it right!!! 122,000 people and we were virtually last to leave and it took only about 2 hours after the MotGP race finished to get out. Was over 4 hours last year from Donington just to get out of the carpark

I come from the same town as Chaz so have been a fan of his for a good few years now, so it was great to see him do so well (despite the start).

Unfortunately there are rumors of him loosing his ride for next year, due to a lack of funds, which would be a huge shame.
He has a website where you can join his supporters club... ChazDaviesRacing (http://www.chazdaviesracing.com/)

Perhaps if he changed his name to Chaz Daviesioso and pretend to be Spanish he may get a decent ride!
It seems crazy that such a great talent could miss out just because of his nationality, having watched the last 2 seasons of his career I believe he has a great future and could challenge at MotoGP level. He already has size on his side, look at Dani Pedrosa, he would struggle to get his feet down on the big 4 stroke bikes!
Lets hope that someone within racing can recognise such a huge current and future talent and invest in it. According to Eurosport commentary team the President of Dorna first congratulated Chaz on a fantastic ride at Sepang before seeing the new World Champion, Pedrosa! With a bit of support from Dorna perhaps they can gently nudge Chaz in the direction of a works bike, maybe even replace that cart horse Poggiali at MS Aprilia. They did it before to get Chris Walker a ride on the Shell Advance Honda V4 a few years back.

Totally agree there. Poggi and Rolfo have been disapointing this year. It seems they get their rides on the basis of how much money they can bring to the team more than their talent (not saying they have no talent).
Lets just hope Chaz gets the ride he needs.

Whilst I'm pleased to see that his talents may seen more often on our tracks, I would prefer to see him on the world stage with a competetive bike. His talent is certainly up there with the rest of them but due to a lack of publicity he can't bring in the cash from sponsors.
This is where Dorna should get much more involved, just hope they do a better job than they did for Chris Walker!

I think it would be a shame if he didn't stay in gp's but would understand his decision to ride in the supers. I hear he may be on for a redbull Honda ride so he would definitely get his chance to win races and prove himself.

Whatever he does I'll be cheering the nipper on

thats how motorsport works I'm sad to say, MONEY TALKS!!! Its why people like Barros don't get dropped by honda... Sad to say, if I was running a team and had a choice between to similar class riders and one of them could bring £500,000 personnal sponsorship, I'd be taking the money!!!

I'm sad to say I don't think he'll get a decent bike and should maybe think about coming home...
