Need urgently the VAT number of the now gone bust Ron Parkinson shop in colchester.

I got a brand new ex demo bike from them 3 weeks b4 they went bust, not heard a thing from DVLA about log book, other than to say its still in the name of ron parkinson motorcycles uk ltd. DVLA told me to phone the shop and chase up the paperwork. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The f**king shop is closed for good. I need to now prove via a VAT receipt the bike was purchased by me, and the only way I can do that is to get the VAT number of the shop and get a copy of accounting stuff from the vat office. All the while, my bike doesnt have a log book with my name on it, and the tax is due, and I could have a document producer at anytime. How the hell am I going to get round this.........

Bloody hell. HELP PLEASE

And before you all ask, NO stupid **** me lost the receipt from shop, well didnt loose it, more like the puppy emptyed my wallet and had some fun.

Been on to Kawasaki Motors UK and they are still holding the master copy of the regestration document which is in RON PARKINSONS shop name, but they will not release it to me because I do not have the bloody final sales receipt.

DVLA as far as they are concerned, the owner of the bike is RON PARKINSONS. Bloody great. Could be £8000 down the toilet boys and girls.

Well i just looked at the website

http://www.ronparkinson.co.uk/

and saw the webmaster's address is wizrp@konex.co.uk

so i'd probably email the webmaster who may be owed money by them.. you never know . If thats the case then he may give you the vat num.

Does anybody know the story of why they went bust? I know their reputation had been going downhill rapidly but it all seems a bit sudden.

Gossip anyone??

Check out http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/ and do a web check. They should be in there if they are a LTD/PLC co

If you tell DVLA that you are the owner then they will write to the old owners to confirm that you are the new owner. They wait for a certain amount of time and if the old owner does not write back then they will assume you are the new owner.

I had the same problem and it took around 4-5 weeks to get the new V5.

HMC should sort out the VAT number ok, but be careful with DVLA or you could end up with a V5 showing you as the second owner, that can devalue the bike :(

the ex demo bike will have had to be pre -registered, so it will show as 2nd owner anyway....

just out of interest, even if they are being wound up the company still has to retain its records for 6 years and provide copies of documents if required.

its probably a case of finding out who the administrator is and asking for a copy of the sales receipt if necessary.
