I did the same thing yesterday morning riding into work. :(
Didn't make that mistake this morning. :)
Neither did I decide to wear my summer gloves, out with my nice warm winter mittens today. :D
Tomorrow I'll remember to put the liner back into my over trousers, the tops of my legs were freezing.
Yeah - it was a bit "kamikaze weather" this morning when I went for my weekly potter down some of the local lanes..........
Put my Damart thermals underneath my leather keks and was fine. Wore the Cordura jacket with the lining in, and had had thermal vest underneath a light sweatshirt. All in all, plenty warm enough.
Got some new winter gloves (Akito "Storm") at the NEC and wanted to give 'em a go. They are mighty thick and warm, but make operating the controls something of an acquired art  Suppose they need some breaking in?
As an aside, although it was cold, the roads were bone-dry and grip didn't seem adversely affected once the tyres had warmed up. Didn't push it too hard, though - just a nice gentle bimble for an hour and was hone by 10:00am.

I always find it takes a couple of rides to get used to wearing my thick winter gloves after months of nice thin summer ones.
at 0730 the roads were not to bad but had a covering of frost. at least leicestershire council have gritted though!
its supposed to be getting a lot colder though. someone said it will be the coldest winter on record!!!

Good job I found my Damart longjohns then!
Also, is that why the local council are offering cavity wall insulation at ludicrously low prices?
I wasn't cold, running vest, tee and fleece under LJ, and trousers. Oh yeah, and Sophie's fake plait (sp?) flowing out behind. Perhaps it was the warm smug glow that kept out the cold. :D
Just turn the heater up if you get cold!!!
Leave the bike at home and use the car, it's safer and warmer

Because the govt. gave them a grant to help subsidise the cost as part of the sustainability/action on global warming thingy.
Even Hutt Towers will be less than £200................ I've just put the application in to the Engery Efficiency Advice Centre and hope to hear from them shortly.

I'm afraid Toad Hall predates cavity walls, so no insulation for me
And it gets b****y cold.
Luckily I have heated grips on the bike - my pinkies are lovely and warm

I just gave in and bought a set of heated grips and a windstopper neck thing. Those combined with nice new winter gloves and those spada trousers and jacket I think I should make it though this one.
