Thanks to me dropping the can of chainwax and not noticing the nozzle broke, not only did my chain get some wax, but my hands are waterproof for life too. More importantly, I got a bit of wax (not loads, but you can feel it to the touch) on the edge of the wheel (it sprayed around the card I had in the way).

I'm at work and it's fairly urgent I set off straight from work tonight on my bike, rather than go back to the garage/shops etc. first. So, here's my question, "Is there an easy way of getting the wax off using things you'd find in an office/toilet/kitchen?" I'll be riding extra carefully due to the cold/ice anyway. Will the wax wear off with some gentle riding? I've wiped most off with a cloth, but you can still feel it there."

Thanks, as usual, for helping out a newbie :)

I'd have thought a bit of petrol on a cloth would be your best bet.
And you have a ready supply of petrol carried around on your bike.

I wouldnt use petrol, thats slippery as well!

hmm, Try wipeing it off with a cloth, but im not sure that would work.

Try some walm/hot water to dispurse the wax maybe...

Cream cleaner, like wot you use on the bath and the sink, excellent greasy stuff remover.

Nothing you have access to is going to get it off. Soap and water with some paper-rowels may get some of it off.

Don't use any petroleum products on your tires, I'd only use electrical/brake cleaners. Don't spray the cleaners directly on the tire, spray them on a rag first.
