You getting started on motocross lee?

I was looking at this myself the other week but decided to try and do one of those "day experience" courses before shelling out money on a new bike & kit.

Anyway, I talked to Rictus01 & Sid Squid about this off road malarkey and mr. Rictus mentioned that the cheap way to do it is to get a cheap pair of boots, gloves, some old clothes, the full armour kit the MotoXers usually use, a single piece full body waterproof and helmet. Put clothes one, armour on top of clothes, and the waterproof on top of it all. The reason behind this was that the day rate for an enduro course included a hosing down of the bike AND you.

Keep me informed how you get on, off-road is one of those things I am really tempted to get started.

On the subject of off-roading, I've also been looking at it. I couldn't possibly afford a second bike right now and I wouldn't replace my SV which at least has some practical use travelling, etc. for a bike I'd only use offroad. I just want to do one of those 1 day trial things, to give it a go, preferably with all kit/bike hire included. A couple of my mates want to do it to, one who has no motorbike experience (but is good at dirt biking mountain bikes), the other who has a full licence.

Just wondering if anyone knew of any good places to try it either in south Wales or the Bath/Swindon area?

Also, would those places require you have a full bike license?

On a related note, anyone seen that bmx/motorbike hybrid in last week's MCN? Looks interesting...
