View Full Version : ASSUALT: HELP WITH FINDING RIDER

Might be a long short but you never know. I'll keep it short.

On Wenesday I turned left into nine elms lane(vauxhall,London) from Ponton Road when as I went past the section where you have raised concrete slaps(or whatever the correct name is) I noticed a car which appeared to be overtaking. No problem apart from thinking he is going a bit quick until I suddenly realised he was heading straight for me. I swerved to the inside lane and he went past me doing, I estimate anything between 50/70. My first reaction was it was maybe a foreign driver who forgot what side he/she should be in. When past to the bit where the raised bit ended, swung round to atry and alert the driver. The lights up the road were now red and it downed on me that the car was British registered.

Rode up next to the car and asked what he was doing as he could have killed me(If I had been five seconds earlier turning left I would definite not be here writting this as the inside lane(it's a dual carriage way) just as you turned left has some kind of work been done and so you had to swing to the outside lane). He then proceeded to to tell me to feck off smiling. Not funny mate I said to him. He got out of the car and went for me from behind say I'll kill you if I want. I'm trying to get out of his grip but he says 'Don't move I've got a knife and I'll ****ing slit your throat. I now realised he had been drinking as well. Now I'm thinkg what the feck is going on. Shoves me aside, gets in the car and speeds off. Adrenaline kicks in andlI followed him behind hoping being in London there will be a chance of seeing the police at some point and get his registration. He heads towards Kennington lane where I found another biker on a GREEN CCM SUPERMOTO and we decide to keep a distance behind hoping we might see the police at some point. He stops puts the car in reverse and we have to take evasive action. He proceedded to turn left into Kenningto Road the onto Lambert Road, stops at the light as there were cars waiting, got out and threatening do this and that to both of us. The other rider managed to get a black cab driver to try and ring for the police. I noticed a police van on the other side of the round about and went over with blaring my horn and point over to where he was. I don't know what they were thingking but in my opinion they were dopey as I don't think it's every you get someone blaring their horn and pointing in a certain direction(he was still out of the car and threatening the other rider) at the police to follow them. By the time they snapped out of it, he realised there was a police van close by, got back in the car and sped off.

I had a look in the direction were the car had gone but lost it. The scary thing was that he had his wifeor girlfriend and kids in the car.

By now I had managed/remembered to get the registration and spoke to another set of police who were stopped on the side of the road. They took all the relevant details and I got a call from the crime unit today but caught the answer phone message too late so will give them a ring.

Sorry not so short now but I hope It made sense to anyone who read it. Right so I am hoping someone in London knows anyone who rides a GREEN CCM who might be the above mentioned rider. I would appreciate if folks could even ask any CCM rider they meet on there commute into and around London as you never know. Don't know what the situation is but all witnesses would be a great help to the police hence the appeal. If on the odd chance that someone strikes lucky could they be kind enough to get their number(I really don't think he would mind you asking) to pass on to me or give the site address to contact admin.

But for the grace of God eh. Someone watching over me I think. Be safe and thanks . Is it ok to post the details of the car:?:

Cheers
Ben

Sorry you've had this bad experience Ben, it's becoming increasingly common. I've learned to totally ignore all idiots on the road unless I've got a twelve bore strapped to my leg (oh if only! ).

As far as I'm concerned, feel free to name and shame.

The guy sounds like a complete menace.

Glad you came out of it unharmed, but this story is an abject lesson in why not to confront erses like these! What if he really had a knife and had used it?

I know, I do the same. I've calmed down over the years(I am not a whipper snapper no more. Older=wiser). I just carry on. My really first thought was 'a driver had forgotten what side of the road he/she was supposed to be in. It was only when I got to the lights I realised it was a GB registered and was back on the right side. I never even shouted at the idiot, just pointed out he could have killed me. After that it was a case oh Blip :) what an idiot. The only reason why I stayed behind him after he jumped in the car and drove off was I now realised he had been drinking (maybe drugs as well) + the assualt and there was a chance the police could be around being in London (as the other rider). So my initial action was not due to looking fro a comfrontation but to help.

By the way anyone have an explanation as to why I laughed(well as much as I could with him holding me by the throat) when he said he was going to slit my throat. I find it weird now but that was that I did.

It was a blue BMW 3 series registration T160SPL

It is a nervous reaction to the situation, either that or you're as hard as nails & didn't fear him at all

'kin hell!!
What are the odds that this utter, utter tw4t isn't insured, car's not in his name etc.?
I hope it's not the case and he gets done.

People do sometimes forget that a car is a lethal weapon, although this idiot seemed all too aware of that.

Glad's it's not another 'man down' post. :?

Be interesting to see what the police do...aside from the motoring offence, you have also got the threats to kill...which is an arrestable offence...plus the common assault....

Have you made a statement? giving a full description of the bloke?

If you need any advice PM me :)

Just done a check on the car and at least its not reg as stolen.

Its had quite a few searches done it on by insurance companies recently and one by a finance company, so either the person that has it is looking to renew the insurance or its been involved in a few accidents.

Good luck.

Update: The car is registered to a lady his (Mum I believe), He is apparently unemployed and homeless ie no fixed abode. He is disqualified from driving and not long out of jail(with a bit of luck he can get to spend some more time in there). The police will be looking into checking the cameras and as it so happens there is one pointing in the direction of the set of traffic lights. They will also be checking to see if he is claiming any 'benefits' as that could help in tracking him as he has no fixed abode.

I am in the process of getting MCN in helping track down the other rider. Thanks Fraser01 for the offer. Will keep in mind.

Cheers

Ooh, it's just like Crime Watch! I can't wait for the next installment. Better than East Enders.

Seriously though. Hope you get a result and keep us all updated. I, for one, am a nosey *******!

some one at the office saw a car cut up a rider then proceded to get out the car to shout at him. The rider was blocked by the car and got of his bike and after the car driver punched the rider (in full gear and helmet, whats the point) the rider with one swing (with gloves on) knocked the car driver out then got on his bike and left.

Point of this, if you are a car driver, dont get out and have a fight with a rider. You will most probably loose.
