Yup!! :D    :( :!:
Can't imagine I'll be there this week really!!
And thanks - no I wasn't doing a stoppie (at least, I don't think I was - a serious concussion saw to me remembering anything about the accident!! )
I'm doing pretty OK now really - just getting fed up a lot... I am getting a lot better at MotoGP on the X-Box (new toy I bought in a vain attempt to keep me amused... It does hurt a fair bit to play but it's pretty damn addictive!!!).
All I can think about is the Daytona, sitting there, glinting in the sun in all it's lovely yellowness, roaring to life as I thumb the starter, flicking it hard from left to rigt on it's first trackday.
(Do you think I should chill out a bit!!??)

D'Oh!!
I didn't trust myself to remember to turn them off every time I got off, so I wired mine up to a switched feed so they couldn't ever be left on when the ignition wasn't on! :D :D
Ive just printed a strip of paper to laminate and stick on the bike... big letters... TURN THE GRIPS OFF.... stuck under the ignition.... think that should do it...
but the worst of it was I went to bed and wondered and thought no...i checked. then I wondered again got up went outside and switched them off. figured only an hour left on so might have battery for morning...
got out this morning thought Id check... started... so warmed bike up... switched off to finish up in the house... got back to bike... #-o no battery... if only Id left it running!!!
my alternative since my mate wired them up is as I have 2 of everything gear wise Im thinking of having a spare battery in the house for those occasions when I have another dopey moment and not switch them off.

Or ask your mate to connect them to a switched supply so you can't leave them on!!??

Whats the best way to do that?
Ive asked him for enough as is!!!
hes got to do the engine and rear brake next... and he has managed to find me a cbr6 for 600 quid for the winter soooooo..... dont want to push his kindness too far...

in my case offers of beer, breakfasts and making loads of tea/coffee while hes working on the bike tends to be the best way of asking my mate....

Whats up with the rear brake?
its like the rest of the bike... its getting worn out....
Its now on 44k kms and I bought it on 21k kms on august 13th... doing the math its around 14 thousand miles in 4 months... be due another set of tyres soon too...

Find something that doesn't draw too much current (horn, light, although NOT headlight, fan, etc.) and check with a multimeter that it is switched by the ignition. Then take the positive cable for the grips, remove the spade-type connector on the end of the cable & connect it to the Positive feed of the switched supply... Leave the negative cable connected to the battery!
n the K3, I found it was easiest to connect it to the rear light supply as it's easy to get to & the cable was just long enough!

More than likely, if work doesn't get in the way that is.

hope to make it, didn't bike into work today due to cold looking weather and a decidedly dodgy (hamicad induced) rear end (currently held on with sellotape, completed with do it yourself reg plate)
I'll see how i feel about dragging the bike out when i get home tonight.

  :? What happened then!!?? Is this another of those older style Hamicads failing or something more sinister!?
Or is it another scumbag having messed with your bike in London!?
Helen02

No, nothing sinister Tim - but still bloody annoying - the hamicad half broke off, presumably causing the reggie plate to fly off when it dipped down to the tyre over the weekend.
Still, had good Blue Peter Fun making a new plate - and it has withstood speeds of 100+, so i might not bother with a new one!

Glad it didn't cause an accident or anything nasty to happen.
I didn't know you've done a track day recently though, you kept that quiet!!

I've got a spare hamicad if you want it. It's one of the old (dodgy) ones, but it'll do nicely as a temp replacement as it hasn't done that many miles.
Probably more trouble for you than its worth, but thought I'd offer anyway 8)
I will be there. Blue and Naked.

Take your bike to Eastbourne, buy Tim something nice and he'll guide you through the process!!!!!
Seriously though, they need to be wired to something that can't be left on without ignition so that not just any Tom, **** or Harry can turn them on without your knowledge. Tim wired mine to the power supply for the rear light...problem solved. I would owe him a pint or two if he didn't fall off and need my help

It was a good night and great to catch up with Swiss again, welcome back mate. I had a very eventful journey on the way back or to cut a long story short I went motox style on the central reservation of the A21.
Note to self: Must remember that the A21 is 2 lanes and not 3. ](*,)
