Thought it might make sense to put a link here to the pictures of my mashed riding kit!! (http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.php?t=15813)
It goes to show how good all of the kit I was wearing was and I would definitely buy any of it again. (With the probable exception of the Frank Thomas jacket but that's because I've had previous bad experiences with it!)
The RST trousers mentioned (not shown though, as they're still at my Mum's house!!) were very impressive - very little damage at all & saved my legs from bruising/breaks!
The Shoei XR900 helmet was very impressive. It took the full impact of me landing on my head after being thrown over a car at 50mph and I came away with a concussion. There were no head/neck injuries and I didn't even have a headache when I came round! :shock:
I haven't seen one so badly damaged where the rider received so few injuries before, even as a race marshal!! :shock:
If I had been wearing a lesser helmet, I cannot be sure whether I would be here today. :shock: :? :(
I will definitely be buying a Shoei lid next time!
