Hey everyone - great night on Friday - tks for making me feel welcome. I did reach the Ace in one piece (tks Toady-man) if somewhat windswept (and I did go through the underground pass on Hangar Lane roundabout. By the time I made it back, the last stragglers were just leaving. My night continued however trying to keep up with the R1 crazy nutters up to Staples Corner.

Deffo up for next week. What's the crack on Wednesday? I'm sure someone mentioned a meet (sorry, so many names, such a caffeine-fuelled brain).

Cheers also for the compliment - nice to have a vote of confidence esp. when covered head to foot in gore-tex :D

Rider,

This Wednesday is the first SELKent meet of 2005 - usually a fortnightly event.

It's held in Riverhead, just outside Sevenoaks - it can be easily reached from the A21, south of the M25. Probably quite a few folks coming from London direction... take a peek at the SELKent section to see if there's anyone you'd like to tag along with.

Different kind of meet.. usually with us all proping ourselves up in the pub and taking the mick out of each other!

No probs... I know Ian (Squid) and Lyn both bike down from London to join us. I think, if they'll let me, I'll be joining them by the time we get to the next meeting (26th Jan) as I'll have finished working in Hell/Crawley.

Doesn't matter... all the SV's will be upfront anyway, so it'll just look as if an old crapped out CBR is trying to keep up and listen to the most pleasant noise on earth!

Does anyone realise that apart from 35 bikes turning up last Friday (the biggest ever turnout and in January!) this is the longest post ever to appear in the Soho Massive section. What's going on? :?:

I only counted 28

Not including the coppers. By the end of the evening there were 35+ bikes (admittedly not all SVs but part of the Soho posse all the same).

Don't know what your problem is, I rode all the way up from New Milton .
115 miles for a cup of hot chocalate, oh yes and some good company .

Don't know what your problem is, I rode all the way up from New Milton .
My problem is simple. I really suck at finding my way anywhere.
I'm not just bad, I've got myself lost in Brighton before, on the entire other side of the city to where I wanted to go.
So when I try to find my way through an area where even locals sometimes go the wrong way, I'm a bit stuffed.

Next time I shoud be ok, had a few kind offers of meeting me and guiding me there.
Are you going this Friday? Perhaps we could ride up together.

I'm not just bad, ...

Just an idea.. get a small map bag for your tank and mark out route you wanna follow... or do what i do... get to the bit you know how to get to then count the roads.
you know... 5th left.... then 3rd right.

Around Soho it'll be more like 1st left, left again, left again, balls where am i now? Oh there it is kinda thing.

Or as Jonboy mentioned get someone mobile number and call when you are close by.... Soho can be so bloody confusing.
hth :)

The bit I know how to get to ends at the end of the A4, after that I'm left looking confused.
I've tried the map thing before, I just **** it up.
It's not even like I can't read maps, I'm pretty good at navigation when I'm a passenger, but have always got it wrong when I'm the driver.

Definitely plan on having a contact number for this week.

The end of the A4 is picaddily circus, which is my usual way in. If you need a guiding hand this friday I can lead you in.

This is no ordinary cake, no baking involved. (I bet that got you thinking hasn't it) Unfortunately I will only be able to cook half of the recipe because due to travel concerns, so first come first served when I show up at my usual time. I really need to find a tupperware box big enough in order to transport the cake on friday.

Oh if you are on a diet which has a maximum amount of chocolate & calories that you can take in one day prepare yourself to burn the extra calories you are going to get, it's really rich in choccy (even though is some british stuff because I can't my usual brazilian chocolate). :D

Keep that thing away from my bike! I need a tupperware box, not a top box. And i need one today or tomorrow night, i make the cake today, it cools overnight and I put in its box tomorrow or friday.
