Much, much nicer than the silver frame, especially with a black bike.

I was thinking about buying a V-strom a while back and if I had would have had to have bought this years model and they are putting the same black frame and swinagrm on the strom, hopeless for a bike that you might actually take on the more gravelly roads....don't know, but would reckon. Someone somewhere posted about the black paint chipping badly on a Honda, so I'm afraid I have little faith in the durability on the Suzuki.
I like the black frame on the black bike. It almost makes me want to go out and get one of those inferior, uglier, pointy SV's.
I said ALMOST. I'm not that desperate

black frame looks better on a black bike, but on a blue or silver bike, the silver frame looks better IMO
I don't like the colour and I think its the wrong shape.
They only made it black as it hides dirt, rust and discolouring.
Probably so they can make it out of a cheaper, tarnishing alloy.
Actually black SHOWS dirt a lot faster than most other colours
I like it, thats why I ordered 1.

wow interesting poll
current result is 12 for 12 against with 4 undecided.
Looks like i'm gonna join the undecided.
i aint seen one in the flesh yet ... apart from the bike show. But i wanna see one on the streets, then decide.
Oh and as for black bike with silver accesories being camp.... dont let Jonboy hear you saying that. Seen his bike yet?

I think a black frame looks ok on some bikes, depends on the Colour of the bike I suppose.
In the olden days, :P all bikes had black frames and spoked wheels.
I could imagine a red or yellow bike looking ok with a black frame so I will vote undecided

I like - especially on the yellow - like a great big angry wasp. Where's that guaranteed bank loan letter gone...?
It seems that manufacturers must have just sussed out a cheap way to do this - a few bikes have matt black frames this year, including the 600 Fazer... it looks good and almost certainly will make the bike last longer than the uncoated ones... now they just need to get some radar absorbing matt black on there and everyone's happy.

The black coating adds 17 grammes, so that`ll make the newer bikes slower.
you mean the old silver coating is lighter? so silver bikes are faster?
I think the black frame looks a lot nicer in the flesh than in pictures and as said above, with black paintwork, it looks fabulous. Would I buy one? No. Would I buy a new SV1000 (when they're available)? Oh yes.
.
The black frame does look much better in the flesh...as do the swingarm and wheels ..ordering mine in blue as too much black makes a boring looking bike as far as i am concerned

that`s right, the silver frame coating is 17 grammes lighter. So the newer bikes are slower!
