There are a few cheap ticket deals advertised in the magazines, mcn etc. But you have to commit to actually going, no refunds and transfers i think.

I have a friendly BSB team who send me a few tickets cos im a yorkshireman with short arms and deep pockets :P

Certainly a good day out, and Brands is good for viewing too

Tickets dont normally sell out, they might do for a grandstand seat at a GP because many of these seats are taken up with corporate hospitality.

To be honest you are better getting a weekend ticket, the practice and qualifying are generally as exciting as the main event, plus you get to see a lot more behind the scenes, meet riders or end up tripping over them in the showers.

You can buy tickets on the gate for race day only but you tend to have to pay full price, unless you want to risk the touts.

Also I find that you are better viewing from several different corners rather than stay in one place all day.

Thanks for the calendars, they come in handy for the TV viewing.

As for tickets, always contact the circuit themselves, cuts out the middle men.

A lot of circuits you will find now will not sell you tickets direct. I seem to recall an agreement was made to sell them through a ticket sales service... MCN is always a good option as they do give reasonable advance purchase discounts. You can of course, always call the circuits to get your tickets but they will be the same price as from anywhere else.

The World Superbike meetings, particularly at Brands Hatch (the biggest 1 day sporting event in the UK each year!) and the MotoGP at Donners always get well sold and you may find it harder to get tickets colser to the time. However, I have not known anyone to have an issue with buying a ticket on the gate yet!

I will definitely be going to all of the Brands Hatch rounds as I live so close and I'll make it to several of the other BSB rounds too.
I'm just hoping I'll be fit for the start of the season, as I can then wear those ever so attractive orange marshals overalls and stand trackside!! :D :D

It is a great day out/weekend going to any of the race meetings but I would recommend that you don't take too much with you - it gets heavy & awkward! Drink plenty, take something to sit down on (plastic/blanket to put down or a tripod stool, etc.), food may be useful - the burger vans are almost all there is and they aren't particularly cheap (or brilliant!). If you intend to camp, take plenty of clean clothes as it's bound to rain at some point over a race weekend, take extra blankets and also cooking utensils, bread & bacon - you will be so grateful of it in the morning with a hangover from your choice of tipple, which you should also take a few of! Earplugs may be useful, as you probably won't get much sleep otherwise!!
Yet again, don't take too much - you often have to park in a different field to the one you camp in if you go by car & if you go by bike, you've gotta find a way of fitting it on the bike!!

Most of all - enjoy the weekend... It's a good idea if you haven't been before to go to one of the BSB meets before a World championship event, just to get an idea of it all before being dumped in at the deep end!!
Also - it's always good to take a mate with you so you don't sit there like Billy No Mates all day/night & when someone wants s drink, your space can be saved by them!!

PS. The BSB calendar is still subject to change!!

It's not exactly likely at this late stage but it could happen!

If you buy tickets for an event & it is rescheduled or cancelled, you should get a ticket for an alternative event or your money back though!

Just thought it should be pointed out!!

Motorsport vision are the owners of Brands hatch along with a number of other circuits, they are offering a good deal (in my opinion, not the girlfriends) for people living in the south east, £125.00 gets you access to all motor events held at brands both 2 wheel and 4 wheels (got to cater for all sorts!!) inc BSB and WSB events

http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/brands-hatch/BH-season_passes.asp

I was Aat WSB last year, FAB biggest 1 day event in the UK and normally the weather is spot on, just remember to take something to change into as leathers are v warm!!!

http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/MSV-info/MSV-season_passes.asp# I'm sure i'll be investing , its not just the racing but the opportunity to ride all over the country and get to meet lots people as well , which for me makes it all even more fun .

ok, so the 28th march at brands is on a monday- is the weekend sat,sun (practice and qualify) and mon the actual race ?

i wouldnt mind doing the weekend - as ive done reading before.

how much would a weekend ticket roughly set me back - for say 3 pll ?
take it you camp there ? is it a case of bring your own tent - pitch it up and sleep in it ? or is there more to it than that ?

also - i live about 30mins away from brands (i think) - could i just go home after each race and come back the next day ? (for hot showers and hot grub :) )

also - just wondering - if someone could explain where exactly brands is - ive never been there before :)

sorry for all the Divvy questions - :)

Contact Big Rock on 0845 644 1176, they are advertising tickets from £45! They supplied my tickets for Moto GP at Le Mans a few years back! They do take a handling charge so if you can find tickets elsewhere it may be cheaper! They have a website at www.bigrock-holidays.com

Yeah - the race weekend will be Sat: First qualifying (half day for 2004/5, so from 12pm-ish normally), (Easter) Sun: Second qualifying, (Easter Bank Holiday) Monday: Race day.

The weekend ticket will most likely cost somewhere around the £40-50 mark per person including qualifting & race days and camping as well... This is just a rough guestimate knowing what tickets used to cost (bear in mind I didn't have to buy any tickets last year! :D ) and you should keep an wye out in MCN for what are normally the best offers nearer the time... Try looking about a month before each race and you should find something about it there. As for whether you have to book camping, this changes every year and as I was in the Marshal's area last year, I don't know what the policies were last year but 2 years ago, they changed mid-season at Brands from having to book, to just turn up on the day at BSB meetings... Check in the press or when you book tickets. You will have to book & pay for camping at a WSB meet.

With reference to coming & going throughout the weekend, you are free to come & go as you please although it will get busier & more difficult to get in/out of the circuit as the last race/qualifying session finishes and as the weekend progresses!
At a BSB meet, a perfectly sensible idea would be to go home on Saturday night and camp Sunday night - it probably won't be that busy to hinder your getting out on Saturday night and won't likely be that busy in the campsite. It will also be fairly clear getting in to Brands on the Monday morning.

Brands Hatch is off Junction 3 of the M25, it's round a big Roundabout and up the A20 (not M20)... it is now signposted for Brands, I believe. :? Then it's pretty much straight on! You will go straight over one (small) roundabout and then take the second exit off the next one (straight on/left a bit)... Follow this road & it's on your left after a bit... It's hard to miss!!

At a BSB meet, you may be able to be sneaky & avoid traffic by taking the first left before the main circuit entrance, signposted to Brands Hatch Paddock Entrance... It's called Scratchers Lane but it will be closed to the Public at WSB meetings and possibly at BSB too, although this is unlikely... (Bizarrely friendly Police will advise if you can go down there or not... If not it's only another mile or so to the main entrance!!

Shouldn't be too hard!!

Hows about getting a few from on here together!!??

I'll be there - whether I camp or not, I don't know yet as 11-12 hours standing trackside & lugging broken bikes around kinda needs some energy & for you to be alert! :?
