View Full Version : Finally, my new bike!
Well here she finally is: all nice & shiney & new
http://server2.uploadit.org/files/damienomen-MynewTuono080105.JPG
I picked her up Saturday morning from the Aprilia Centre after a sleepless night. I had to wait 6 weeks due to insurance  !!! Ok, the strong winds & coffee I had at Nero's the evening before also didn't help. Damn!

She is absolutely superb. I am slighly lost for words at the moment. The suspension is very composed, brakes are awsome & the engine, well, where do I begin, it just wants to stomp ahead in an attempt to head butt the horizon, I love it! Managed to put 200 miles on her over the weekend which ain't bad going. Took her down some country roads with Avian Blue & loved every minute of it. Frustrating thing is I have to keep her below 6000 rpm until the 1st 600 miles. I'm still over the moon. Can't wait to get her out again this weekend. God only knows what's in store above 6000 rpm, I've fitted the 16 tooth front sprocket which makes the Tuono even more responsive & willing to surge forwards which equals big smiles :D
I'd just like to say thank you to Neil, Debbie, Roger, Frank, his Dad, David & Dave (Avian Blue) for riding along with me on Saturday. We went to the Ace Cafe then Box Hill afterwards. What a day!!! I won't ever forget that. :D
I guess now I'll be leaving SV ownership, well, once I've sold her, I should say thanks for all the good times I've had, you all know who you are! (I'll still be loitering around though  )
No doubt you'll be seeing the Tuono down a country lane somewhere near you, or at Box Hill, or at Soho, or at a track day, or in Europe. Give us a wave if you do!
Don't they look good togehter: LOL  A bit like beauty & the beast.

Dan
How could you tell
Yup, that's the one. Just 5 mins from where I work.

Dan,
Didn't I bump into you Friday night. You're the one with the Carole Nash go faster stickers all over your SV?
Aren't you :?

Good meeting you on Friday.

One of my locals is either The Gun (not bad but its going to get knocked down) or The Ten Bells (Bad, but it ain't going to get knocked down).

nice one Damien, told you you wouldn't sleep, even after decades of different bikes I'm the same now.
You're restricted to 6,000 rpm, can you imagine having it sat in a garage just waiting for you, and not riding it? by choice
Welcome to my world.
Enjoy it m8, Cracking bike.
Cheers Mark.
oooooooohhhhh thats a nice bike...

I saw you today, going down Commercial St. at lunchtime. I knew it was you as there is only one CB Aarrgh
I work ( and Dan used to) in Brick Lane. Sounds like another excuse for a curry to me

nice bike, hope its as fun as it looks.
Mark
Hey folks,
Thanks for all the good messages! :D
Steve, damn! I knew that was coming  , as a former falco owner I'm sure you'll be itching to see what its like. I'll only let ya use it on the motorway though  (joke).
Steveo - North of Liverpool St. is the Light Bar, cracking place to drink in the summer (hence the reason why you don't see me much at Soho during those long Friday evenings) - further north is, apparently, a Yamaha dealership.
Lynw, I work along Leadenhall St. I randomly bump into Stephen Hayes who has a tendancy to loiter around the back of my building, probably due to the fine collection of R1's in the car park
Mark, yeah I know, still, riding around town really doesn't do anything for me. The lanes is where its at & the odd track day or 4. We'll have to meet up soon.
Debbs, its a bloody tall pillion seat but you are more then welcome if ever you fancy it.
Iain - I've got a feeling you're never going to speak to me again. Was good knowing you m8!
Jonboy - as soon as I work out how to put the alarm into service mode you can have a play on it.
Richard, forecast for this Saturday is, so far, looking good. I'll keep you + the Jelster posted.
Thanks Burner, Billy, Dan & Greg.
I keep having to open my garage in the morning to say good bye to it before heading off to work. I think I need help........
LOL - Take it easy all!
D. :D
Yes you are   but it is a very nice bike  was looking at one when i went to buy my new bike but they were over 8k!!!! as they had only just come out and I'am not that rich hehehe
You have a p/m m8

Ive managed to make it look worse  however stopped at b+q for some more paint on way in and sprayed it again when I got to work... going to go check in an hour but these are the first coats of paint to go on so....
definitely have to do a curry round there some time.... hmmm another opportunity to demonstrate your organisational skills for the commercial st bunch?? :D
Right, just put 550 miles on it in 8 days which isn't bad going for a weekend toy! 1st service is going to cost me circa £250 earth pounds. Yikes!!!!! Think I'll hold onto my SV for the time being!
Not loving the Tuono. Its simply awsome!
