So many peeps i didnt get to actually chat to last week so count me in.
Oh and save me some cake too ;)
And if its planned to go for something to eat after.... i'll actually get on the bike and follow this time instead of nattering away
id love to come for the cake . . . but i dont finnish work til half nine that night :(
Ok, I failed my test today  So I'm not at the SELKent meet tonight and work is sending me to Gloucestershire for a couple of days so I don't know if I'm going to be able to make it on Friday, will have to see.
Sorry to hear about your test kate. I am sure you will get it next time.
I however am not a happy puppy. Cake is now done and is cooling as we speak, however this land doesn't seem to have a chocolate powder strong enough to get the amount of chocolaty taste I wanted to get out of it. (Yes yes I know, melt a chocolate bar, blah blah blah. Doesn't work ok? Has to be proper powder...) And so I must inform you that this cake is not my best by a long shot. :( However, still has a lot of chocolate in it and it definently still very edible. So what I need one of you to bring are some paper plate, a proper metal spoon as some plastic spoons to go with the paper plates. You can't slice this cake.
Never mind Kate, your not the first to have failed at the first attempt and I'm sure you wont be the last. You'll crack it next time
Raf, save me some of that cake

It's not good ape... had to use "the other" brand of chocolate because they didn't have the one I usually use. :( Ohh this is a cruel life... not a happy bunny at all!
"other brand" :?: :?: :?: Not the brand with the "special ingredient in"
"other brand" :?: :?: :?: Not the brand with the "special ingredient in"
"Other brand" is too milky, original brand had more a dark choccy flavour. Flatmate had a sample and said it was "not bad". So I am going on his word and saying it's "not bad" and blaming the lack of taste on my cold.

RAF - stop worrying about the cake.... I think its going to be better than anything I could do by a long shot... and as long as its chocolate Ill be happy  thinking about it, it doesnt take a lot to make me happy
I'll sort out spoons/cutlery and plates.... will bring them in my rucksack..
Kate - sorry to hear about your test. You'll get it next time. First time I went to do my licence I had an accident and couldnt walk for a week and put me off bikes for about a year. At least youre in one piece and youve had some experience.

not that I'm a chocolate freak or anything, but if you go to tescos.... they do a chocolate powder called chocolatedirect..fair trade stuff. it's minimum 40% cocoa solids and well chocolaty...

Where is this Nero's that you meet up at, and what time? As I'm working up this way I might be able to pop in and say hi.
Frith Street... on the north side of Shaftesbury Avenue... it's a one-way street, so you'll have to go up the one next to it, and comeback down again!

If you're like me and suck at finding your way round London, let me know, as I'm meeting Dr Squid on the way and being led into Soho.

Frith Street, soho. Where are you riding from? I think you mentioned your comute involved J13 of the M25 and the A30. Which is the area that I am based so I can lead you in if you want. (Altough slowly... I will be carrying special cargo).
Times anyone?
Usual arrival times are between 7:00pm & 8:00pm
Bit of a pictorial guide to the people looking for nero's:

Shawarma is what you are on about is it?
Spelt many diffrent ways but consitits of REAL fillets of chicken (or lamb or both if you like), with a garlic sauce, salad, chilli sauce etc.
On a large round flatbread (a type of nan dontcha know) and delicious as hell.
If anyones up for some of these then there is a great place not far away in Bayswater that i regularly go to. Mmmmmmmmmmm my mouths watering just thinking about it.
Deelish ;)
I thought it was just a kebab but there you go  . The place I know is in Finchley Road, Golders Green though I'm sure other good ones also exist.

believe it or not I've never tried anything other than the "post pub special"
be interested to try something a bit more authentic.
Oh, and yes I'll be there tonight.
Cheers Mark.
I'm thinking about making an appearance though I doubt there is anywhere to park my car, where's the nearest tube station?

Not to sure on this, but think it could be Tottenham Court Road, about 1/2 a mile away.
Cheers Mark.
Yes Tott Crt Road or Leicester Square:

I know my way around there quite well and dont mind coming to get you if you like Kate, seeing as you already owe me a coffee i'd kinda be looking after my intrest by doing so too.
PM me if you need/want my mobile number.
On the "kebab" front. For those that have never had one.... the only real diffrence is that you get REAL fillets of meat .... not that disgusting mechanically removed lips and balls stuff
There are many diffrent ways with a Shawarma and the best (but pricey) one can be found in Ranoush or Maroush on Edgware Road, just by Marble Arch. I'm sure i'm gonna want one tonight after all this build up.
Yumm.

Always glad to help out a lady in distress... ;)
For chocolate cake I'm sure my legs will make it. Cheers for all the offers guys but I'm not bringing my kit as I'm probably going onto a bar later (all are welcome btw) and don't want to lug everything around with me.
ok.... so remind me what I need to bring Raf...
got spoons... paper plates wasnt it? anything else?
1 proper metal spoon to "divide" the cake. Plastic spoons, paper plates, appetite, desire to try a different kind of chocolate cake and your cb haha for me the laugh at again. ;)
ok... no probs on the plates/spoons...
and Im not happy... did a good job on the tank spray.... then... put the cover over the back of the bike to protect the electrics under the saddle (I had the panels off) from the frost well away from the tank...
went down hour later tested a bit it was dry so put the cover over the whole bike but then realised it was only that part of the tank which was dry... the top wasnt so it peeled away when I lifted the cover off the tank... result... a blue/black patchy tank... doh!!!
so... bike is in garage downstairs been resprayed... going down about 4 to check it poss sand it back a bit so its all one level then respray which should be dry by 7ish....
other than the crap painting it doesnt look too bad now!!
Aren't knives better for cutting chocolate cake? I'm only talking from experience here, as I've never tried Raf's surprise!

Not that kind of cake, you will see what I mean tonight. I don't even know why it is called a "cake" but hey I am not going to start discussing it with my grandmother.
