View Full Version : ok I dont need a faster bike
this guy earlier pulled up alongside me at the lights on a ZX7R, I gave him a nod as you do and he just ignored me so I thought ok fair enough mate. So im waiting for a green which is taking ages and just blipped the engine a bit and he turned round, shook his head and gave me a right funny look as if to say 'check me out on my zx7, you aint nothing!' and even though it annoyed me I thought, dont bother speeding off when the lights change it aint worth it.
But the lights turned green, he kaned it off and I just couldnt help myself. off down a long straight 2 lanes, first corner I went round him on the outside lane back on the straight he closed the gap and went slightly ahead, second corner round the outside of him AGAIN, a short burst then into a tight left hander flicked back over to the outside lane and round the outside AGAIN, I went in quicker than I normally would to a corner that tight so was forced to pull the bike right down but boy did I take a chunk out of him! then praise the lord a red light which me and my SV arrived at first!
I just looked at him like 8) you are once, twice, three times a loser. I get it now.
yeah you get them, ive even had someone do that to me in a car sat at the lights reving the nuts out of his alfa romeo, and as you just said i couldnt help it, let him pull off in a massive wheel spin, with a oh sooo gental twist of the right grip i left him in my fumes...slowed down about a mile and a half down the road and guess who came uop behind me, of course he had to over take me in a blaze of rev's and blue smoke....whats the point...
lol, gud on ya. zx7's r sh*t n e way!
his face aswell  , if ever there was a kodak moment.
I have to say that was irresponsible, reckless and reprehensible action. But I bet it felt real good!
.
i get that with cars all the time.
they think their all fast and furious with their standard corsas with a baked bean tin sized zorst and a kN air filter.
havent even gotta get the revs in the powerband to lose them in my mirror

I did that today to a chav in a Civic Type R, I nipped by him on a straight bit of road and then I lost him in some twisties, I slowed down to observe a 40mph limit through a village and he was driving up my chuff, as soon as we left the village, down two gears.. bye bye..
Why do they bother, like you are gonna beat a bike...

i rekon the car drivers that think they can take a bike from the lights have obviously never riden one or they would pull up a few feet behind and wait for us to go before pulling away nice and slowly but then we would have our fun taken away
I had this when I had passed my test 5 mins earlier. My instructor, a very sensible, gentle biker when teaching, turned into a huligan once I had a lisence!
Stopped at some traffic lights (Thorn Lighting heading for the River Soar for anyone that knows Leicester) and this idiot came on the outdide lane and started revving his engine. My instructor just looked and me and said 'Does he really think he has a chance' and smiled at me.
Lights changed and we dissapeard (very slowly considering what my bike can do now). Was fun. A lot of fun :)

You can do most average cars from the lights without even trying. Gently rolling on the throttle will leave them behind. I've done a Porche before, but had to try a little harder for that one. Even beaten an EVO 6 off the line with all the 4x4 traction they have.

Only up to the speed limit of course

As a slow rider unsuited to fast bikes I have had to overcome any desire to take on anyone. But I'm glad some of you out there take on the job.
Unless I'm feeling up for it, my strategy is one of ..hmm, cant think of the word, perhaps negative psychology.
So I dont even bother , maybe fiddle with my visor and gloves, read a book, smoke a pipe...and watch them dissappear into the distance before I even bother putting the bike in gear with them looking in the mirror thinking 'he didnt race me, why wouldnt he race me...'. :-s
Ok Im probably deluding myself and only more astute boy or grown-up racer may think this, or would I have beaten him if he had tried, but I dont care about the others
I hope this is at least and entertaining thought. But as Jonboy intimates you tosser Caines ...but well done!

Mmmmm...no, they're very, very good, even if that particular one was ridden poorly.

Ha ha, same here. We were heading back from the test centre up a dual carirageway and suddenly he speeds off up to about 90mph. We were both on naked Kwak 500s and I kept up with him. About a 2 miles later we slowed to about 75. Nothing was said, but there was a knowing smile on his face when we got back.
