Hi all

from chatting to a couple of others we thought it might be worth making the ace a regular meet on wednesdays. just seeing if anyone would be interested, to see if its worth looking into.

Ill see what people think on friday night too, in soho.

or as sexy virgin has said in another thread, we could go somewhere in hertfordshire. he knows of a place that would be good.

Probably when the weather is a lot better I would make 1 or 2 per month
but it is 65miles each way for me so till then think not Soorree

I think it's somewhere around 120 miles for me, assuming I don't get lost.
I can only afford to make the trip into London once a week

Yes for me Friday is just fine, particularly as I can play out late and not worry about having to get up early on Saturday (there again I don't worry too much about that Mon to Fri either ).

I'm also not greatly impressed by the Ace and sadly feel it's a little overated. Whereas at Soho, admittedly the facilities aren't exactly wonderful, the coffee's excellent and there's a buzz in the air. It's also more central for a lot of folk too.

However if you can get a mid-week Ace meeting going good for you and have fun.

Hell I have enough of a hard time for my Friday nights in Soho let alone another meet during the week. Besides that, the distance would be more than I am willing to travel. Soz

Maybe when the weather is a bit better and the evenings longer, till then Soho is the only thing i get out to do.

As I get both Wednesday and Friday evenings out, I use Fridays for Soho and every other Wednesday for Riverhead, which leaves me every other Wednesday to visit mates or go out with non-SV riders( shock, horror, not riding with other makes of bike :!: ), I'm quit happy with that.

Although I was a member for two years of the ACE club paying for the restoration, I find it lacks atmosphere, yes I know it's the people that make the place and all that, but it's as if they try too hard almost?

I do pop in at the ACE every once in a while, but think it would get pretty old fairly quickly if visited to often.

Cheers Mark.

Wednesdays is Great Bentley night - maybe if it was another night - but is a long way for me so I wouldnt be able to make it that often. :)

I'm usually drunk on a Wednesday evening so if you could arrange for a bus or SV to pick me up that would be great.

On a serious note, & I am serious about the above ......... hiccup..........the Ace would be interesing for me, only been there once, as my attendance at Soho is appalling I think it would be a non starter for some one like me. Good luck though, hope it works out.

Damien,

Your drunk most times I see you, except without the bike.... In fact, thinking about it, I only ever see you drunk or on the bike, is there something you need to tell us ?

As a serious answer, I think that a weekely meet at Soho is more than enough. Like Mark I also tend to mix with non SV owning bikers as well.

I have enough problems getting to Soho on a regular basis (if I'm going out on a Sunday, I'll usually miss Soho to keep the Mrs happy) plus if I can get a mid week pass I'd rather use it riding than just a "meet".

During the summer months us guys from West London will often meet at the Ace before riding to Soho, and it also makes a good meeting point if you intend on doing an evening ride too (must do more of those this year).

We ladies on bikes meet at the Ace 2nd Tuesday of the month, along with Classic Car nite... get bored with the conversation, go check out the cars (must be a petrolhead tho).

Altho I get the impression the SV.org peeps prefer not to mix with the Suzuki Owner's Club we meet 1st Thursday at the Ace, some of us on SVs... more welcome :) BC
